hmm and next to a bunch of European Consulates. Nice move Fertitta. Astros have their Cuban/Dominican pipeline. Rockets will have their Euro pipeline.

We just need the ping pong balls to go our way on May 16th so Victor Wembenyama can be the first out of that new pipeline. 😉

Well, that's a Landry's distribution warehouse so it makes sense... but that's not Galleria... .

See my October 26, 2022 post:  (It does stretch the definition of "Galleria area"...

Rockets 🚀 practice facility?

Sure looks like it almost has to be.  But they clearly have the location address wrong.  I've noticed before that these TDLR permits very often have errors or misstatements in them...

Hospitality, Inc. is the record owner of the Landry's warehouse at the Loop and I-10 (7310 Old Katy Rd) that was recently discussed in the other thread.  Interesting that Tilman is apparently going to renovate his existing warehouse building in to a practice facility.

Huh?  What European consulates are next to the Landry's warehouse?  I can't find any...

  • The title was changed to Houston Rockets Practice Facility At 7310 Old Katy Rd.

If it is located adjacent to the Post Oak Hotel, it would be… well next to the Post Oak. Next to Mastro’s. Next to the Bentley/rolls Royce dealership. down the street from the shopping of the Galleria and River Oaks. And not too far from the strip clubs on Richmond Ave.

in other words, an NBA player’s dream. In fact, don’t even put it there. That’s too distracting to focus on practicing.

Now they can be distracted by the Marquee and Dave N Busters.

Rockets management led a tour of the construction for the Memorial Hermann Houston Rockets Training Facility scheduled for completion next summer, a 75,000-square-foot basketball headquarters that franchise owner Tilman Fertitta pledged would give his team “an edge” in a variety of ways.

Houston Business Journal notes the following in regards to the Memorial Hermann Houston Rockets Training Center:

The new facility will be three times as large as what the team currently uses at the Toyota Center downtown. Located at 7310 Old Katy Road, the facility is north of the Uptown/Galleria area and adjacent to a distribution center for Houston-based food and entertainment company Landry's Inc., which Fertitta also owns.

Tillman Fertitta's helicopter left Hobby airport and picked him up at the Rockets Training Center and is headed down to Galveston for the last weekend of Mardi Gras. I kept hearing a helicopter circling over Montrose so I looked up what it was doing on FlightRadar24, I then saw Tillman's helicopter.
