^^^ honestly, i am not aware of any HEB development that could top this prospective mixed-use UK concept design.  should the city of houston and HEB proceed forward with construction of this particular design, it would catapult the UK district into the stratosphere.  my goodness, this is BADass...

The density in this part of town is pretty awesome. Are we the only city in Texas with these urban style HEB's?

Not that I know of.

I just looked it is one in downtown San Antonio but it's not a urban one.

They have a nice small "market" on South Flores Street just south of the main part of Downtown. It's kind of like a small version of the Dunlavy store. For the most part, H-E-Bs in San Antonio are not that exciting... easy to be that way when you're the only game in town.

I mentioned this before - while at the Southern Land Communities Kirby project a guy walked up to me and said he heard from a friend that someone was going to build an apartment project here.

Today I see the fence has been removed around the whole property. I wonder if the apartments or HEB or maybe both are going to start work?

The whole block still belongs to HEB according to HCAD.

I hope there is an HEB planned still - the Washington Heights one and the Alabama (Montrose) one are both overwhelmed with customers. Thanks for the update @hindesky

Isn't the site across from a Whole Foods?

I have a vested interest in HEB building this location, so they can take some of the customers from the Dunlavy St. location where I shop. 🤫

I'm hoping they take over the Kroger's site on West Gray and build a urban mixed use HEB on that lot like the one on Washington.
