High-End Hotel With Residential Units Planned For Uptown

There is a very large, high profile luxury hotel flag kicking tires near westcreek on a mixed use tower but not at the same location as the earlier renderings I don't think.

Lots of hotels kicking tires....

Are you talking about that old rendering of the electric blue "m" (upside down w or whatever fake logo), that was saw surface a while back? As in a different location than that?

aaawww come on swtsig, you know that we shall need a little bit more than that.  we all have been beyond patient.  however, of course we've been wondering just what you are up to lately.  albeit, staying very quiet and discreet of course.

how close to westcreek per se?

any small clue on the luxury hotel?

do you think a ritz carlton is coming to ROD?

where in the world is our W?

we need you swtsig...

I can attest to this. There is a high profile hotel that will carry a mixed-use component. I am not sure as to whether it is the same brand that swtsig is reporting on, but it is not in Westcreek and is not Live Aqua.

As of late last week, I heard this is very close to closing.

Exiting stuff... How tall could this be?

^^^ thank you kindly as per this update.  however, shall this new edifice be constructed in the downtown area or uptown district?  can we get a floor count by chance.  we HAIFER'S can certainly comprehend and value discretion per se.  however, this particular high end hotel concept news has been long sought out.  therefore, you may understand our current exuberance.  nonetheless, thank you for any and all related info....

This will be in Uptown, and outside of the loop.  I do not know the final floor count (the market may dictate a couple floors of fluctuation for the living units), but it would be in the 30-40 floor range.  I won't comment on the name of the operator, but will keep my ears open on when they secure the dirt.

To be clear, this is a different project than swtsig is referring to?

Is this what you are talking about?

This is Phase II of ROD, which is inside the loop. CBREguy mentions the project will be in Uptown.

I think that's pre-recession old right?

No, this was shown recently at Las Vegas ICSC Recon

Hopdoddy is overrated. Ya the burgers are pretty good but they're definitely no better than bernies and definitely not better than lankford. Every time I see a line 100 people deep at the south congress location I'm reminded at how much austonians buy into their own BS.

In other news the Waldorf hotel/residential tower that was being worked on is dead.

The hotel you alluded to a few months back that was being proposed near ROD?

^^^ what??  what are you speaking of swtsig??  if i may speak on behalf of all of us members that canvas this wonderful forum day in and day out, to my knowledge, not one of us is aware of any WALDORF HOTEL/RESIDENTIAL TOWER.... other than the icon that is in new york city. may you please elaborate a bit further on this startling revelation?  was this prospective development gearing up for houston or austin, tx??  what area of town was this developed in??  we do not know anything about this....

Correct. Hines only has one other deal in the pipeline I'm aware of near 3400 Montrose.

If this is the one behind La Colombe D'Or...

I was told this one is going to be a 30 story hotel behind the existing house. If that's not the one, add it to the list of potentials.
