It'll help a little, but it's really on the edge of the TMC and Riverside Terrace, not so much in the Third Ward. Sounds like Riverside Terrace is really taking off, though. bobruss
We've been pleasantly surprised to see the amount of activity taking place over the last two years since we moved in. We've always loved the feel of this neighborhood with its large lots and fine old homes. We knew this was a neighborhood with history and a lot of potential. I counted at least ten new homes built, 15 remodeled and several sales pending, in those two years. With all of the major developments taking place at U. of H., (Med School, and Law school), The T.M.C./U.T./State's announced psych unit, which will be the largest in the country, and built across Brays Bayou from the newly announced H.E.B. Market, the area will become more interesting. There's a lot of reasons for the interest in our neighborhood. Just three minutes to both freeways, U of H., and T.S.U. Were sandwiched between two parks. Hermann Park just five minutes away, and McGregor Park is just to our east. It's ten minutes to the med center. Lots to offer in convenience, proximity to major high paying job markets, and easy access to the parks and Museums district. We pinch ourselves everyday. I live in this part of Third Ward and the new HEB won't be much closer than the one on Alabama. I'd say Emancipation Park is the biggest catalyst for this part of Third Ward.
