Any know more information? This is proposed multifamily, near downtown. I assume these are a high-rise or mid-rise project, most likely the latter.

nice find!

are the 49,000 and 29,000 square foot figures in the plat for just the footprint, or the whole building? trying to figure out if these will be highrises or not.. if so, its about time the downtown skyline breaks the confines of the Pierce Elevated on the west side..

Odd that they would name it Skyline if it were short. Sounds like something you'd name a nice 2 tower project. However Houston has shown names are meaningless by marketers calling the SkyHouse in Westcreek, "River Oaks", etc. So midrise that can look at the skyline(if they can see over the highway and parking garages(; ) sound about right. Anyway to find out who the developer is?

Multifamily buildings. One 10-stories and the other 8-stories, with 3 to 4 levels of parking. Developer is Alliance Residential.

Great news! These will bring more residents closer to Downtown. That's good enough for me.

Did you get a peak at them? What kind of design should we expect?

Negative. Right now Alliance is throwing up bland mid-rises all over Houston, but this will be their largest project.

Both of those renderings look exactly the same. Where is their Midtown one going on Main? I haven't heard about that one before.

Yeah he posted two renderings of the same project. This is Broadstone Midtown:

So it looks like we won't see a 10 or 8 story tower :(

Construction is currently scheduled to start on September 8th.

http://swamplot.com/the-2-new-apartment-buildings-just-west-of-downtown-that-alliance-residential-hasnt-even-announced-but-is-about-to-start-building/2014-08-27/

TWO SEPARATE APARTMENT buildings, one 8 stories tall and the other 5, will be going up at the far east end of the Fourth Ward, just over the Gulf Fwy. from Downtown. The building bounded by Saulnier, Crosby, Heiner, and Robin will cover the entire 1.136-acre block, which is currently a surface parking lot(see photo above), and bear an address of 707 Saulnier St. The (presumably taller) building one block to the south, labeled 707 Robin St., will take up the vacant two-thirds-of-an-acre L-shaped portion of the block bounded by Robin, Crosby, Heiner, and Andrews.

Developer Alliance Residential (the same company behind the Broadstonecomplexes at Main St. and West Alabama in Midtown and next to the new SkyHouse downtown, as well as other complexes in the Houston area) doesn’t appear to have announced the project publicly, except to let neighbors know that construction will begin on September 8th and will shut down portions of the surrounding streets for the duration of construction, which is expected to last through October 2016.

How tall are these builings really going to be? We first heard 8 and 10 stories... the renderings provided are 6 or 7 stories each (same height)... and now the swamplot article says it wll be an 8 and 5 story apartment buildings???

a total of 269 apartments for 2 buildings seems low...
