  1. Most of the glass is in place, but a lot of the corner facade needs to be installed
  2. They have already removed two feet of dirt from sections of the site. In going to guess we're in a prep stage for the new Hilcorp tower
  3. Something is going on over there- there are at least four backhoes there, and the bottom of the old foundation is either gone or covered with dirt piles
  4. they should close that part of Main because you can't drive on it anyway- there's nowhere where yo can take a right turn to get onto that block, and you legally can't turn left onto that block after crossing the tracks, anyway
  5. takes the same anount of time to gut, implode, and clean up a building as it does to disassemble it, plus, you can do other things on site while disassembling the building.
  6. ^^^ lol yeah, I'll feed the troll this time, I'm still laughing at this one... LOL
  7. Demographic center of Houston is at I-10 and Silber
  8. whoa.. this picture. when we see downtown now, we see the huge (to us) buildings, and the empty parking lots. even the distance shots of downtown in the late 50's start to look like the modern downtown we know today, but this picture, with all the older buldings, the water tower, and the TREES in downtown....... wow! epic
  9. I wold sat there's an 80% chance it gets built. The built their first Houston tower last year with no tenants lined up, leased the entire thing to one client, then sold it to them. that is an excellent start for a first venture in this town- I'm thinking they know they can do it again.
  10. the Sheraton wasn't a brick structure like this one, so I'm sure the scaffolvator (heh.. good name for it, Nate) is up so they can remove all the brick. Plus, the Sheraton was already gutted and had all it's asbestos removed. after the brick comes down, the rest of the structure will come down rather quickly
  11. there is no way it will be gone by March, but, excavation for the rest of the tower will take a couple of months, so, if this one is gone by June, then it'll work out pretty well. I think it took 6 months to disassemble the Sheraton, which was just a shell. (timeline pulled out of thin air)
  12. they blew it up Sept 22, so it took them almost 120 days to clean out the hole and get it to where it is now
  13. excuse the lack of quality on the picture, my LG phone's camera is worthless. So, the last of the digging and cleaning machines have been removed, the walls of the 'bathtub' have been shored up, and the tunnel entrance is sealed. We now have the future home of Hilcorp, sans building.
  14. Cinco Ranch, Fairfield, New Territory
  15. hmm.... they built a ramp on the Main St side.
  16. Mexico is ending their oil monopoly, inviting foreign investment. Look for oil prices to drop and production there doubles in the next few years. you would think that if Chevron grabs a chunk of that, they'll need more office space... lol http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-12-16/north-america-to-drown-in-oil-as-mexico-ends-monopoly.html
  17. The bathtub for the old Foley's building takes up the entire block, and is about 15' deep. They are currently filling it in. i really need to delete the account that uses my real name... it's linked to my cell phone... lol
  18. the pictures make it look better than anything that the chick on Rehab Addict has taken on, but, still... more than 300k....cash.. .who are they kidding... lol
