except it's drawn where HL&P was going to build a 90 floor building on Block 265. It might be a proposal for that... -

Alamo Drafthouse Midtown Theater At 2907 Louisiana St.
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to DrLan34's topic in Midtown
You would think that West Oaks is a horrible place for an Alamo Drafthouse type concept, but they made a go of it, and now look- they're building where they belonged in the first place -

wasn't the Pink Pussycat on Louisiana, where the Longhorn Steakhouse used to be? (not that I ever went there- I was too young at the time!) -

the only place they could put residential in Pavilions is where Books A Million is now, and BAM isn't made to have additional floors added above it- they would have to knock it down. but, honestly... would you want to live within two blocks of two very loud music venues, a bowling alley, and next to the main parking lots for said place? -

if that was here, the first time they fire that SOB up, the people at Houston House will complain, and the neon and/or LED's will be shut down for good- 2,096 replies

no, you're not over the top and completely wrong... for the last few years, i have been calling the team from Indianapolis The Indianapolis Peyton Mannings, because he WAS the team! His neck injury proved that- they were a steaming pile of crap without him.

that wasn't Gertners, that was us... we had a duh step show that brought in the most ridiculous sound system. I felt like I was physically assaulted by the sound the ten minutes I had to sit out there (spl so high some frequencies literally choked me) -

the business model is to keep the payroll as low as possible and get the shared TV and merchandising revenue from the league. If the AAstros win a few games, it's a bonus. The AAstros have a history of trading away the best players on the team and getting Mark Lemongellos in hopes of building something, which never works out. I'm surprised that Biggio and Bagwell were on the team as long as they were! The AAstros are a schedule filling team, always have been, always will be.

oh, cool, 1970 Fiat Spider in that picture
-
ok, let's see,. there's a 75ish Chevy, and a 1970 Fiat Spider in that picture, so, I'd say it's right about when they tore down one of the old movie theaters that used to be on that block (Isis Theater maybe?)

bummer- I went looking for the shrimp with the six shooters on my way out to my mom's house the other day. They are not there anymore!
-
Tin Hall opened in the 1890's, and was the only gathering place for people in that area. It was rebuilt a few times (all wooden structure on stilts). we did a few shows there in the 1990's- I don't even know if the structure is still there (if not, good riddance, i hated that place)
-
the shrimp with the 6 shooters live in Richmond now, still on Alt 90, just east of the Brazos River bridge
