  1. Here is the revised model they put back into our building this week. I just got the new phase since the rest is already built out
  2. Well, the main proponent of that train of thought did weigh in right above you. As usual, it was very thoughtful and has contributed immensely to the discussion.
  3. Great night shots! Thank you for sharing them!
  4. Maybe he was an ex boyfriend? Or maybe Chita has denied his repeated Facebook friend requests and blocked him on Twitter...I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud.
  5. Well this has escalated quickly
  6. Webcam update: It looks like they have poured the 23rd floor. From the rendering, this should be the last "regular" floor before things start getting smaller. Looking back at the rendering though, despite the fact this building is only 24 floors, I didn't realize how much higher the top is than the last floor. Not that it matters on a building this size but something I had overlooked until now. The red line is where they are currently.
  7. I was actually thinking about starting this discussion again myself! I'm down. I say we take this to the least douchey part of town...Cypress!! Haha ok but seriously lets get this going!
  8. I put architect even though I'm technically a landscape architect...close enough.
  9. Arche_757 has done a good job of breaking down his original post to make perfect sense as to what he meant. No need to keep dogging him for something that was taken out of context. I make a motion to return this thread back to its rightful purpose...speculating on why or why not this tower will get built and why the floor height keeps changing. Also, how it looks sort of like a head and shoulders shampoo bottle as was referenced before.
  10. What? That is entirely the opposite of what is going on. Chevron is already committed to their new shiny 50 story building downtown which will start up in about 9 months. There has even been talk of them occupying the 800 Bell after Exxon leaves. I will say though that I agree that this (International Tower) is probably the least likely to go up of all the proposed downtown buildings.
  11. That is the remnants of the 24 hour fitness. The site is being prepped for BHP Billiton's new building. Here is the thread for that one: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/13199-bhp-billiton-five-oaks-place/
  12. I thought I had a bad week last week...and then I saw everyone else's scores.
  13. I definitely need to eat some crow after that performance. Case far exceeded my expectations and played a very solid game. He made many plays that Schaub could only dream of and most of the time they meant the difference in a sack or wasted play and positive yardage. Kubiak is saying that Schaub is still the starter when he is healthy but I hope that is only coach speak and that Keenum gets a legitimate shot at winning the job.
  14. I think he's referring to the height because a taller building generally equals (dependent on floor to ceiling height) more floors which means more office space that would have to be absorbed.
  15. I agree that this would make a killing and be packed much like City Centre. I'm all for it....but these renderings don't match up. Maybe one is from a different design?
  16. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison. Union Station is situated right against the ballpark whereas the apartments will be further away (about 200' further than Union Station). That is a big deal as far as perspective goes. Furthermore, the picture is from a third of the way up the first level seating, as you go up in the stadium, the obstruction will be reduced. Also, if we're going to nitpick...Union station is technically 4 stories but the first floor is a double floor so it's more like a 5 story building.
  17. It looks like they started working on moving the dirt for the parking garage earlier today.
  18. There's a reason he put a question mark at the end of his name, he doesn't know what he's talking about.
  19. I can kind of see why so many people are on the Keenum bandwagon being as he's a hometown boy and the only quarterback they haven't seen look totally incompetent thus far. The back up quarterback is always the fan favorite...until he stinks it up and then it's on to the next one. I just don't think the Texans have a really good qb on the roster. It won't matter who they put out there, he's not going to be better than Schaub despite the fact Schaub has been so bad at times this year.
  20. I think you're going to fit in just fine here... Thanks for the awesome shots!
  21. Rough week for Matt Schaub... http://thenewsleak.blogspot.com/2013/10/tj-yates-and-case-keenum-filed-missing.html (Shameless plug)
  22. Ha, I'm not critiquing their competence in the real estate market at all. I think we all know how successful they are. Just saying this is an amateur rendering. It's a large part of what I do so that's what stuck out to me.
