  1. That's my favorite as well. I LOVE the way Houston feels at night when the weather is JUST like that, yo!!!
  2. H-Town is the baddest, best, and biggest city in the South. Atlanta, sit down.
  3. RedScare, why did you break into Heights2Bastrop's car? Mighty generous!
  4. :lol:RedScare, why did you break into Heights2Bastrop's car? Mighty generous!
  5. EXACTLY!!!! I'm all for it. I think we should push for a Busch Gardens in Houston as well. There's none in Texas yet, but if we had that PLUS another theme park in Houston, and we add in the shopping areas we already have, we'd be set as a tourist mecca, and a little extra revenue never hurt nobody The only con I have to Disneyworld is that , just like Six Flags, they're too big. I'm not sure if we'd be high on their priority list if the going got tough for them. They'd probably cut improving our park first (just like Six Flags), before they did to Disneyland, Orlando, EuroDisney, or anyone else So that's my proposal. Have the city of Houston push for A Busch Gardens here, AND push for a Cedar Point-type theme park here, and have the two compete here. And EVERYONE would win.
  6. How much more money did Astroworld make during the same seasons that they opened a new quality ride there?
  7. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/business/3358237 Could this mean Astroworld has a chance to be saved after all?
  8. It was probably located between two other clubs. Sorry. Couldn't resist.
  9. I just don't understand how having only Downtown and Midtown, and not having a Richmond Strip or something similar to it could help our nightlife. And we DESPERATELY need a nightlife to talk about.
  10. I would agree with you if none of them were ever robbed there before.
  11. Three words: Power of Houston. It should be lit like that EVERY night.
  12. How did this turn into a BMW racing forum Yo, SOMETHING needs to be done to bring clubs and crowds back to da Richmond Strip. A LOT of friends in H-Town are pointing out that they don't go clubbing anymore because most of the clubs are now Downtown. They don't feel too safe there. Whatever happened to cruising down the crowded Strip at 2:30am? It used to be something to brag about at one point.
  13. I remember being stuck at the top of the Taz Texas Tornado for almost an hour on a sunny July afternoon. Yeah, that sucked, but at least I can say I know what that's like. Long Live Astroworld Six Flags R.I.P.
  14. By the way, this is the EXACT reason why Astroworld is at where it is today. Astroworld itself has great potential. The current Six Flags executives suck for their lack of quality. If they had any, they would have shown it with Astroworld; the longest running theme park in their chain. Isn't Splashtown owned by Six Flags, too? Does this mean we lose our two only theme parks? WTF?
  15. I didn't realize how small Astroworld really was compared to the Reliant Complex. I thought if they spruced up Astroworld, it would have been a major boost for the upcoming Astrodome Hotel. I'd say the theme park would do SO much better if it were privately run, and I still think if it were revitalized by a new private owner, it could still be a major success. It would suck to have to go to San Antonio or Dallas to go to a quality theme park. We definately need something built or revitalized quick in Houston while our land prices are at what they are.
  16. I think a Virgin Megastore should be built at the Galleria. Either there or someplace Uptown.
  17. Whoa, relax Texas911. The comments earlier in the thread had nothing to do with race, and no one predicted any riots, rapes, or mayhem in this thread. I was refering to the particular looters at the time that were taking more than food (electronics, fur coats, etc.) Now, back to da Dome. When is Astrodome Redevelopment going to make the Astrodome Hotel plan official?
  18. They did the same thing with the Janet Jackson incident, saying that all Houstonians were appalled by what they saw (I thought it wasn't a big deal.) I understand where Editor's coming from, but I think the Chronicle telling the FULL story wouldn't hurt sometimes. In this case (Katrina), it may be inappropriate, and I think the Chronicle is trying to do their part by helping the evacuees feel welcome in a new city, for which I'm proud. Speaking of Janet Jackson, does anyone else feel that her breasts got a faster government response than Hurricane Katrina?
  19. ...but who will arrest them? The police is looting as well now.
