Thanks. I stopped by HP today... didn't go into XXI, though... figured it was just for girls. I went into Books-a-Million... really nice... and for those who were bummed it wasn't a Borders or something similar... well, they are basically the same thing! I bought two Halloween cards for family members... so I supported HP. he he It will be MUCH BETTER once more stores are open. They also need to put some sort of pedestrian crossing from the end blocks to the middle block on street levels... I know you are "supposed" to walk to the corners to cross but since there's a walkway down the middle of HP most people are going to cross in the middle between the corners... they were doing it today.

Well after all that waiting it's officially open... at least parts of it. I am looking forward to Lucky Strike. :-) Does XXI offer clothes for guys too or just girls?

Windows are still boarded up but the observation deck is open... my family was in town this past weekend and I took them up there.

It was supposed to open Oct. 8th... they are 2 weeks behind due to Hurricane Ike... so now they are saying the end of October.

Not sure... it seemed weird b/c if you look at the floor plan there is space for shops on the 2nd floor between the 1st and 3rd floor HOB space.

I see Qatar Air opened an office there... ha ha... that's interesting. And Lucky Strike is on the 3rd floor... didn't see that coming. Also weird... HOB is on the 1st floor and 3rd floor but not 2nd.

It is pretty funny. Could u imagine if Palin was a Democrat running on the Democratic ticket... her "sucessionist" background would be one of the biggest talking points with the GOP pounding how unAmerican she is.

Seriously, it's not that unheard of. And I am sorry, but I could not even imagine Palin being President let along VP... the thought is actually scary. How scary?... I would prefer Bush over Palin! SCARY!!!

I see the AA signs were no longer in the windows and they no longer have Downtown on their website as "opening soon"... oh well.

I just find it sad that everyone thinks Palin did so good b/c she didn't fall flat on her face like she was expected to. Talk about low expectations. Sad.

I always found it interesting that just a couple decades ago we were at war with Nations like Japan and Germany, and now they are some of our best friends. Heck our best friend (nation-wise) is Great Britain... we fought a little war with them back in the day, also. ha ha

OMG I love how she runs right to Fox News after the debate (safe place) and then answers the questions she was unable to answer w/ Katie Couric as if she had answers for them all the time and just didn't answer them correctly.

Biden won the debate, but that was expected. Palin succeeded in that she did well considering all that has gone wrong over the past few weeks. Nobody expected her to "win" the debate, it was just whether she could do well against Biden. I think they both did what their campaigns hoped they would.

As a gay I totally agree... I don't care what they call it I would just like to be able to have the same rights granted to straight married couples. That's just my opinion of course. *yawn*

I agree w/ you here... the media does not have to filter Palin... she makes a fool of herself on her own. I am so tired of that "evil liberal media" crap. It's getting so old. And of course the ones who complain about it the most are the folks on Fox News which makes them hypocrites since they are conservative media. As for "maverick"... ok, it's a nickname, it's cute, and yes McCain is a bit of a maverick, but repeating it over and over makes it seem like you have nothing else good to say about him. It's like Bush and "resolve"... we get it Bush, America has RESOLVE... pick another word!

Probably Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh... I know the thought of a black man in the White House has them terrified.

OMG NO!!! Biden's closing statement was terrific... Palin's was... well, weird.

Seems like Palin is looking down a lot... my guess is at notes... not a big surprise since she probably needs help w/ stuff... it just looks bad.
