  1. The problem is that I'm not technically in Katy, but Harris County. Would I go to the county? Also, does anyone know who to contact in order to get the ball rolling for this traffic study?
  2. We've done that, and it works some of the time, but as soon as the officers gone everything returns to normal. Quite honestly we want to get the study to attempt not only a fight for the speed bumps, but to possibly have a new bridge put in (Over the bayou) about a mile down the road. It would eleviate a huge amount of the traffic.
  3. That's what scares me. From what I've heard, the first time the bumps were asked for it was shot down because it was designated as an emergency route.
  4. Hey all, I live in Katy, and am having huge problems with traffic on my street. I've estimated that over 2000 cars a day pass through, and many are teenagers who are doing at least 40mph. this street is NOT on a main road. It is a neighborhood street with homes facing outward. Anyway, I have several neighbors that want to demand that our HOA put in speed bumps to slow traffic, though it was tried a few years ago to no avail. The difference now, is that because many of the drivers are teenagers who have just come of age, it has almost doubled what it was when the speed bump's were initially asked for. We would really like some ammunition to try and push this, and would like to take it to the next level. This is my question: Does the state/county offer traffic studies at request? Is there a fee, and who do I contact to get this information? Thanks in advance.
  5. Hey Red, Is this anything like "White linen"? In other words, will they have the bands playing in the streets and all that good stuff?
  6. Thanks. I'll deffinately check it out.
  7. Where exactly is it on the Grand Parkway?
  8. It's funny how those of us that came from flashier parts of the country, seem to love Houston for the exact same reasons. Many at HAIF have often talked about how friendly Houston is, which for me is my main love for the city, and it's nice to hear another non native repeat it again.
  9. I think they will still remain in the top 10, probably 7 or 8. Rodgers was amazing last night. He has great vision. Unfortunately he's so small (170 lbs) that he doesn't have a chance in the NFL, at least not as an RB.
  10. I understand that it's not smart business my friend, but why can't a guy who's filthy rich give a tax deductible donation to a city he loves? Anyway, it was just a comment about how cool of an idea it would be to have a park in that location. Don't take it so seriously.
  11. Rumor has it that Biden will step down on October 5th to make way for Hillary. Again, this is a "rumor".
  12. Any word on the City of Houston curfew? It was my understanding that it was lifted yesterday.
  13. It's my understanding that the flight museum took a big hit, losing at least 50 planes. Anybody know for sure?
  14. I'm wondering about Bishops Palace, and how well it fared.
  15. Thanks for the link Sevfiv. I''m hoping a barber chair or two will be found, I always loved those.
  16. Very, very sad. My buddy (drummer Steve Candelari) just played The Balinese two weekends ago, and he's pretty broken up about it.
  17. Agreed... My wife and I lived in Memorial Townhomes (Memorial and Beltway 8) and it was a great area for just about everything you could want. Our rent for a 3 bedroom townhome with 2 car garage was about $1200.00.
  18. Sorry to hear that Plumber. Do you think your uncle will rebuild?
  19. For those of you that don't mind the drive, there are a number of gas stations in the Katy area open, and with short lines (15 to 20 minute waits). A few are: Shell (99 & Kingsland/east side), Exxon (99 & Kingsland/west side), Valero (Mason & Cimmeron Pkwy), HEB (Mason & Highland Knowles), Randalls (Mason & Highland Knowles), Kroger (99 & Highland Knowles)
