Hey Subdude, I need that liscense to kill................ myself everyday that I have to look at that albatross. My goodness I don't know what I'll do if they actually put #2 up. Please God if I have any favors with you, keep those developers from putting the second one up.

I don't see how any of these cities could beat H-Town out for the Super Bowl. Of course that doesn't mean they won't, but it seems to me that giving the game to ATL or the like would be a political move for the league. Houston's amenities and there close proximity to Reliant should be a lock. Not to mention how well the game went over two years ago.

It has been around a long time but I can tell you that it has gone a little down hill in the last 10 years. It's not nearly as pure as it was in the 80's and early 90's. As far as it being a better scene, that would all depend on what your looking for in a scene. 6th street is more geared toward live venues with a texas sound and that's whether you like rock, country or swing. There are a couple of newer generation rock clubs as well. Houston I think has a higher concentration of people now than Austin. Houston's Main st is more geared to dance clubs and pubs. I also love the street being on the rail line and the fact that it's in the middle of all the buildings. Very cool.

Sorry Midtown Coog, I should have worded my post better. I was actually wondering if the crane was visible from street level at the Orion entrance on Memorial.

I found the entrance about two months ago but couldn't see past the sales office. Can you see the cranes off the entrance on Memorial?

The one I was talking about is in the Riverway complex. Is the Orion crane visible from the West Loop? I looked for it yesterday while heading to Willowbend but couldn't see it.

I drove over to Riverway yesterday to see if there was a sign at the site and there was not. I'm assuming that know one has heard or found anything as of yet?

That's ok I appreciate it anyway. Maybe I'll head over there tomorrow and see if they have a sign up.

I was driving into town yesterday and notice a new construction crane off of woodway. It looked to be about 20 stories high. Can anyone tell me what this is for?

Oh yeah, I love Sandys. It's clean and has great produce, I especially like there guacomole. Is that how you spell that?
-
Yeah, good luck. These guys aren't going to do a damn thing. By the way sorry for all the damns, this thing just ticks me off. I guess I need to get over it.

Exactly. What a shame.

You know, they have painted windows on the back of a shopping center in Cinco Ranch and man it looks cool. Unfortunately these guys will probably do nothing to enhance the building.

If your refering to me, yes I have seen it from the front which is obviously much more acceptable, although cookie cutter. I will still stand by my words and be willing to bet that most agree with the point of this thread in the first place.

C'mon that's not what I meant. I'm more than aware that businesses have to make a profit which includes every skyscraper in any city in the world. I'm talking about a blatant disregard for even the simplest designs on the back side of the building. You can't possibly think that the architect designed the back of the Mercer, stood back, took a look and said "yeah I like this". It was done for a buck. I think it's obvious.
