Funny how the one with the second most votes is pushed all the way to 2016 now.

It is a wonderful pool, but they weren't thinking about afternoon sun which is why most people go out to sit by the pool and this looks to loose the sun by early noon.
Weeeeeeeeell, we still haven't seen the other side so there could be an equally sized pool on the other side. Probably not but we just don't know.

hmm...
Mah man!! That is going to be a gorgeous view.

Urbannizer missed it by just two days.

I think the pool is in that mid section above the garage.
You're probably right. Either way, we still need that rendering!
So Hess Tower is 29 floors. One Park Place is 37 floors. Marriott Marquis will be 30 floors last time I checked and the Hilton Americas is just a little smaller. Now I realize that office towers like Hess have a higher floor-to-ceiling length than residential, but either way, couldn't this be the tallest tower near Discovery Green? OPP does have a large crown though so I'm not sure.

This one will start in May as well.
May is going to be one hell of a month and it's only a couple of weeks away!

Wow! Great picture!

Me thinks with the tax incentives being a proved look for alot of DT property to start opting to sell
Hotel demand is quite strong right now because of the low vacany. It may have just been difficult to have competing hotels on the same property.

Now if we can just get a rendering from the top or the other side. Looks like there could be a pool on the roof... could you imagine that view?

LOL To be fair, Swtsigs has plenty of bursting-champagne-bottle posts him/herself.

The 11 story Hyatt Place next to the Homewood Suites/Hampton Inn has been removed.
Last months development map had it, this months has removed it: http://www.downtownhouston.org/site_media/uploads/attachments/2014-03-06/140303_Downtown_Houston_Development_Map_11x17.pdf
Strange. You're right. I was thinking maybe HS/Hampton bought it all but it is still only half a lot.

How is it like One Park Place? Commercial vs Residential. At worst this tower will have ~250' height on the OPP and a significantly larger per floor footprint.
Whoops wrong tower. Didn't realize we were talking about International Tower.

Party pooper.
We have to still be realistic at the same time.
One Market Square, eh? Lockmat was right.... this sounds like a One Park Place's twin.

Thank God for TIRZ. So glad they bumped it up to 5,000 so we'll get more like these.
My thinking is, the skybridge will connet to this project from Marriott Marquis BUT the main purpose of it will be to connect Marriott Marquis to the Hess Tower (which in turn connects it to the rest of dowtown via the tunnels and skybridges) by taking the skybridge that connects to their parking garage.

The Heights name may serve to drive away some people who might otherwise be interested.
What are you talking about?

Well welcome!

No tripod, just a goober with an iPhone.
Ah ok. Maybe it was a surveyor then... not sure why he would be on the garage though.

Looks like this may have begun:

Check out the Chelsea demolitions.

Here's more of that scaffolding work they've been doing over here.

Was that you with the tripod? I thought maybe it was a construction worker on top of the garage but I couldn't tell. lol

It looks like there was some kind of drilling (soil samples?) being done on this site today. Block was closed to parking. Any idea if this is related to the high rise or part of the Convention Center hotel construction across the street?
I saw that too while I happened to be at Discovery Green today for lunch. I'm not sure if it is for this site or if it was for light rail. There were also a bunch of trucks on the Marriott Marquis site today too.

Shocked that I had to go to the second page to find this one. In one section, they appeared to be at or close to ground floor level already. It's the side on Travis.

Must have been taken early on a Sunday morning.
Was Sunday this clear? This would appear to be from today seeing how there are no clouds.
What Are The Odds These Will All Be Built?

You may actually be surprised with Brookfield. They're currently planning on what to do with the remaining Allen Centers. Last I heard (which was fairly recent), they are still wanting to completely renovate One Allen Center just like what will happen after Exxon completely leaves their building for the campus. Now, I admittedly voted "no" for Five Allen Center but we may be surprised by Brookfield.
