I've been wanting to take pictures of the area. People don't realize the half of all of the development. It's townhome galore there along 59 and farther back. This development is just a part of it.Wow! That area looks like it's starting to get some new development.
If they want to make it sound nice, they should called it Upper Riverside.

is that glass? super blue
No, it's just a screen. Guess to keep out birds and what not?

It was a joke aimed at a joke.
Haha... This is the only forum that I seem to let the jokes fly over my head.

This is an excellent point. If everybody could please stop posting photos of construction updates we'll be good to go here.
Completely disagree. All those who are posting photo updates, continue to do so. The webcam's vantage point is impressive but the reflection of the camera itself plus the terrible quality doesn't do this project any justice.

Is this the new design?

This HAS to be the most photographed demolition in Houston history... right? Not by the amount of people like with the Macy's demo, but at least the most photos taken over time.

That's it!
They must be searching for a suspect. I was at Brasil and later went to Agoras. Dozens of cop cars have been speeding from the site with their lights on down Dunlavy and Westheimer. Two nearly crashed into each other when one came speeding down Westheimer towards Montrose and the other was coming down Dunlavy towards West Gray. Last I checked, West Alabama is still shut down.
-
Anyone check the news and found anything? They have cop cars speeding away from the site going down Dunlavy and Westheimer.
-
Something bad is going down here. They have all of West Alabama shut down. They have a fire truck ladder extended into the top floor.
-
Well there was French Town but I think that is still there.
-
They are saving $4,710,000 with the incentive. (314 units x $15,000).

It's a little hard to tell from my photos but I believe they have also removed the concrete floors on every level except the bottom floor. I'll try to take a picture this week from the Main bridge to try to confirm this.

I expect several as of yet unannounced projects to become public in the near future including hotels and multifamily high rises in uptown, a couple office/mixed use projects along the Allen parkway/memorial corridor, a perhaps some additional condo high rises which are picking up serious steam in houston.
A birdie has told me something is going in at Memorial Dr. and Logan Ln. The lot was recently cleared.
On a separate note, I've noticed there are quite a few multi-family units going up that aren't being mentioned on HAIF surprisingly. There's one between Detering St. and Memorial Dr. called Park Memorial Apartments. There's also another unit going in at the corner of Sage and Greentree. I'll have to take pictures of them and create threads for them I guess.

Good.

Google them.
Thanks.
For anyone who really wants to answer my question, I'm talking about the Ziegler Cooper designed projects in Houston. Does anyone know the other ones?

You'll have to remind me, what over projects has Ziegler Cooper done... or will do, I should say?

Hey Urbannizer, that same article you linked to said this tower was at 38 storys.

Townhomes At 2020 McGowen St.
in Third Ward and University of Houston
Posted · Edited by Triton
Well, even those neighborhoods are part of Third Ward. I'm just saying, call the entire general area Upper Riverside or Upper Riverside Terrace or maybe even Greater Riverside Terrace to make it somewhat historically accurate (I know, Riverside is farther to the south) and include those neighborhoods within. And yes, I realize Riverside Terrace is just a neighborhood itself but it sounds a lot more pleasant than saying "Hey, I live in Third Ward" and I suppose you could say that the name has been drawing in the richer life for many many decades. Riverside was once one of the wealthiest Jewish communities if anyone has ever read books about historical Houston. Just don't tell Beyonce that you plan to change the name of Third Ward to anything else or she may get upset.
Edit:
Wow. So this may actually work. Apparently there is already a hospital that I didn't even know about in the center of Third Ward called Riverside General Hospital. So it looks like it could very well be possible to just call this area Riverside-something.
