Sorry, I didn't realize my screen was dirty. The actual structure is beginning to go up!

For a 24 floor residential tower - its serviceable. I kind of like it....minus the balcony based a/c units!
Those balconies with the a/c units on them are going to turn into an absolute mess in the future. Imagine the rust stains coming off the sides of the balconies.

Jonathan Brinsden (CEO of Midway) was walking on Dallas St. today with a group of other people. He was close to House of Blues when I saw him. Didn't take a picture but I probably should have.

Absolutely stunning.

To clarify where the hip areas still are. I believe the area actually east of EaDo is becoming the hip area. Went there 2 months ago for a party and I was shocked how young and hip the area is, being how close it is to Third Ward.

I always thought living here was cheaper because we used wood instead of steel, but I have nothing to back that up. That's what I've been always told.

Who just now brought my first pics over...? Can a moderator please delete my first photos and then this post as well. They were merged from another thread.

I don't know what happened to my post but I guess I'll post my pics here. At first, it looked like a small car fire at around 12:25 to 12:30. I just was about to get into my car at the University of Houston stadium parking garage. When I was getting closer to the northern edge of the garage, it turned into a huge plum of smoke in about 5 mins.
Just started 5 mins earlier
3 mins later
Decided to take West Gray since I figured W Dallas would be shut down
On W Dallas
Traffic was at a crawl since they shut down Montrose, West Gray, and West Dallas so I decided to leave the area by taking Allen Parkway

First noticed it at University of Houston on the stadium parking garage:
So I decided to take West Gray to go check it out

It was weird when it happened. I just finished taking a picture of the UofH Stadium and then I noticed a small bit of smoke. At first I thought it was just a car fire until it went full black and engulfed a big part of the Houston sky. That fire spread fast! I'll have to upload the pics when I get out my laptop.

Was driving by and noticed a large area fenced off with construction workers and equipment onsite.
Edit: As you can tell, I was driving home and noticed it at the last second. Too much traffic to try and stop.

That's weird cause he wasn't even the home owner... he was just renting...

Ya know, even with some of the strip centers in Uptown.... at least most of them aren't garbage... this is gonna be one busy part of the city... I see lots and lots of foot traffic
It already is. Westheimer is already unbearable as it is and they usually have police trying to direct traffic at Post Oak. Keyword: trying. They sometimes seem to cause more problems than they solve, especially with the amount of confused drivers we have in this city.

They moved most of their inventory off to Silver St past the railroads tracks.

They haven't made a decision yet.

So I'm not sure how ya'll aren't seeing it opened yet!- 4

They were flying really low on the west side of downtown near Dallas St:
-
Anyone have any idea what that was all about? Two helicopters were flying very very low (my car was in the helicopter wind vortex for a while at a red light on Dallas) and were certainly filming it would appear. Any ideas?

A lot more rebar onsite.
Where are our HAIF photographers! Oh wait...

Concrete mixing trucks on site.

They've ripped up a large portion of Fannin.

Just a few threads down.
I tried to take a picture of it. I know exactly what you're talking about.
Edit: Well, there are two different frames. They are building what appears to be an extension of the parking garage on Milam. On Travis, they are setting up a metal frame to, I guess, protect pedestrians and vehicles from the Houston Club demo. It's a very bizarre process.
