Johnson Development starts construction on Kresston community - Houston Business Journal (bizjournals.com) "Johnson Development has started clearing the first 600 acres of the property, Kresston General Manager Virgil Yoakum said. The remaining 800 acres, part of which are in Grimes County, are under contract with Crown Ranch Development Ltd., and Johnson Development expects to close on the land later this year."

Sports Illustrated Resorts coming to Lago Mar lagoon development - Houston Business Journal (bizjournals.com) "Texas City will be home to one of the nation’s first Sports Illustrated Resorts, next to the 12-acre Crystal Lagoon in Land Tejas’ master-planned community Lago Mar. A joint venture between Houston-based Lagoon Development Co. and Sports Illustrated hotel and resort licensee Sports Hospitality Ventures LLC is developing the resort." 200 rooms on "at least" 6 stories, to be located on the southeast side of the Lagoon. Groundbreaking planned for Q3 2024. The rendering of the structure from the article mentions it is a "generic" SI Resort New Beach Club tied to the new development on site. -
