  1. We truly had it made when we worked in Pennzoil Tower. We were given parking vouchers for parking right under Party On The Plaza. Whenever we had out of town business guests we simply crossed the street and had a great time meeting many others from nearby Business District. Not to mention just walking under after wards to our cars. Never a need to venture outside either when rains came either. Sure miss the fun while in DT.
  2. Oh the irony, I just had lunch at Treebeards in The Cloister today and it's $1.50 per hour (2 is max) and $5.00 per hour for commercial vehicle's or so the meter thing said. Parking is not just becoming harder its becoming way more confusing for everyone. At any given moment you can see numerous meter payers standing there with a bewildered, confused look as they try to make sense of the meter gizmo. I could swear Allen Funt from the old Candid Camera show must be filming the unsuspecting victims from across the street. You used to enter the Number of the slot your parked in but now its just enter how long you plan to be there and PLACE your ticket on your dash (and pray) that the meter maid has mercy and gives you a break if you are one mili-second late. It's basically a game of Russian Roulette or spin the wheel of fortune and hhope you dont get a huge fine and become a registered offender. Hey you up there! there must be a better way of getting my wings!
  3. I guess by now everyone saw the news story on the beach house that is jammed in the Seabrook Canal? It has become a media sensation not to mention a public nuisance and health hazard. High Drama.
  4. I just realized that the astonished Father guy/actor is the same one that played that silly Super Hero on the other Brit sitcom! He seemed to be more Irish or Scottish compared to the rest of the Brit cast. Perhaps we should do an IMDB search to see what other shows he appeared in? He always seemed to have that bewildered look whenever in a fix the audience reaction would be a chuckle or two or perhaps a Laugh Track? He is some what funny I guess. There always has been a rumor that Americans just "don't get" British humor right? So legend has it old chaps. Update: Hey! I was right! See below synopsis of the My Hero TV show, it will kill ya! On the surface George Sunday (Ardal O'Hanlon) appears to be a mild-mannered Irishman who runs a health shop but in reality, he is Thermoman, an leotard-wearing superhero who hails from the planet Ultron. When he rescues nurse Janet Dawkins (Emily Joyce), he is so taken by her he moves to England to be nearer to her and the pair fall in love. The comedy of the series is mainly based on George's attempts to come to grips with everyday life and combining a dual career as a superhero and a slightly odd earthling. Make no bones about it, the premise of the series is very very silly but the excellent cast carry it off. Ardal O'Hanlon (better known as the dim-witted Fr Dougal Maguire in Fr Ted) is lovable as George and Emily Joyce is suitably droll as his girlfriend. The cast is rounded out by some other good characters - especially Mrs Raven the sharp-tongued doctor's receptionist who abuses all comers to the surgery and Dr Piers Crispin, the clinic's doctor who's more concerned about his career on breakfast television. Leave your brain behind and just enjoy the ride.

  8. All you have to do is ask other employees or see the directory? There is or was the Two Houston Center Trading Dept then more outside of DT the location on OST, Westhollow, North Houston, etc. DT was the best as you have so many choices of eateries, parks etc.
  9. The Vicar of Dibley was pretting funny Brit stuff too. Wonder if she is offensive to some?
  10. Best response yet! PS, I am Roman Catholic am not in the least offended. That means they must have hated when I had Mary Catherine Gallagher (Superstar) as an avatar, someone got mad too? Oh brother.
  11. That is an image from an upcoming film based on historical events that occured during King Philip II' s reign. Not yet released in US and I wait anxiously. Synopsis: In the late 16th Century, in the Court of Philip II, the House of Alba is fighting to regain the Kings favour and displace the rival faction of the House of Mendoza, led by the Princess of

  15. I found the father/priest amazed look as funny... Period. Someone once commented that I should remove the bullfighter avatar I once had because they said it represented cruelty to animals. I left it on for months of course. The drama/hilarity shall continue it seems.
  16. That is absolutely hilarious, the few people I saw seemed like any other college crowd to me. In any case these places need to be cared for. Seperate question is have they reopened Our Lady of The Lake U? There was a separate topic in here.
  17. Answering my own question, The BK looks to be going up quite swiftly. That new street they added seems so unusual though. Hopefully developers will now realize how much of a $$$ this visibliity will do for most business's. Great prespective from 45 coming & going out of downtown. This only took what, about 30 plus years to come to fruition? Keep up the momentum and continue the progress all the way in to DT please! Out with the old in with the new! (Champagne toast)
  18. That building looks like something Spock would live in. Very Bladerunner-like Maybe replicants live in it?
  19. Predictions for 2009: 1. Everyone on Haif will lose weight and be in tip-top physical and mental shape. 2. Become even more popular than ever. 3. Look 15-20 years younger. 4. Win a huge amount of $.
  20. Saw it too! You beat me to it! Downtown was shown for seconds, but hilarious nonetheless. Look out for those giant giraffes peeking over your shoulders while in traffic!
  21. I don't know about love on Haif but lust, maybe. I lust for the delicious food everyone talks about on Houston past restaurants. Sure could use a Prince's seafood basket about now.
  22. Those are the kind I am talking about! Right on! and here is the almost exact areas I was checking out and found numerous and I do mean numerous old homes that MUST be restored for the sake of mankind! lol 1. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=San+Anto...p;zipcode=78207 Just keep driving West along Commerce and see the neighborhoods. I didn't realize I was so close to Our Lady of the lake University! I would have taken many pics! 2. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=San+Anto...de=INTERSECTION I had no idea I was so close to that park, it was neat from a distance. I noticed many new night clubs and many younger people I guess from the college.
  23. Saw the news brief the other day. I never even knew she was portrayed in a recent film or at least it was a ghost imitation of her. The was a trendsetter all right, there are some imitators out there but nothing like the real thing. I tell you brunette's are HOT too!
  24. Rich people means increased police presence. Actually it does. The more tax you pay the more HPD cares about you. It used to be you were lucky the cops even showed up if at all in the Near East End. Wealthy people rant & rave more than renters, that's how it works. Whole new topic. Now let's get the champagne ready!
