  1. I'm thinking this just means they're gutting it for potential future users. Pretty sure EBR refers to the electronic review. '12 IBC refers to the construction code it needs to remain compliant to and SPK may mean sprinkler systems to remain intact? This is just from googling, could be wrong. Can you attach the permit?
  2. Any word on this? Their social media and website claim they're hiring and pushing towards opening, but the land is still listed as for sale on LoopNet. Curious if they have no real plans to follow through. Feels shady. What will happen to the NextSeed investments if they no longer pursue development? They raised like 175k.
  3. We went this weekend and this place is massive. Driving by doesn't do the patio size justice. Two bars (one inside, one outside) + Food truck in back. Tons of seating, some with shade, some without.
  4. "Common Desk" signage is up. Looks like they are currently setting up inside the south side of the building. No word on Bishop Cidercade. The Austin location just opened, which means it should free up their development team to target Houston. It's still listed on their website as "Coming Soon" with no additional updates.
  5. Oh, man. You would think I could've found that myself. Thank you for re-sharing!

  7. Post on East River's instagram story teasing confirmation of a movie theater lease. Will be announced Monday.
  8. I remember when this went up feeling like 2021 was far away. 2020 has been a black hole for time.
  9. Any idea why they left part of the former finger's building on the northeast corner of the property?
  10. Looks like they've laid a concrete patio out front of the building
  11. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/article/Midway-CEO-on-East-River-post-pandemic-15475755.php I'm locked out from reading this article but if anyone can get some useful info from this, please share!
  12. I appreciate that they acknowledged the underwhelming performance of Corky's in Houston and pivoted. I think this is only a step up from what we could've had and I can't help but look forward to pairing some of this “hybrid of traditional gumbo and chicken and dumplings” with a full bar. Let's hope their rebranding is to our benefit.
  13. Saw the door open and a van on site .. and maybe a forklift? Wasn't sure what the equipment was. Curious if construction or cleaning work is picking up here
  14. Finally an update (from HBJ): A spokeswoman for Midway said in an email that the company is in discussions with the city of Houston about how the project will be delivered over the next several years. The spokeswoman said plans for phase one of the project’s infrastructure, including public and private utilities, are in final review with the city, as are plans for its parks and trails. “We decided last year to proceed with several infrastructure projects, to put Midway in a position to begin work immediately upon phase one approvals,” the spokeswoman said. “This included a new bulkhead along Buffalo Bayou from the existing bulkhead to the Jensen Street bridge, and a major storm sewer line along Jensen and Clinton (streets). In addition to serving part of East River, the new storm sewer will significantly reduce street flooding on the west end of Clinton Dr.” The spokeswoman said building permits for phase one have been submitted and pre-leasing efforts are on-going. “As we continue to navigate Covid-19, we are confident the types of amenities offered at East River, including open green spaces, access to Buffalo Bayou Park hike and bike trails and outdoor dining options, will be in even greater demand as we move forward with this exciting and transformative new development,” the spokeswoman said.
