  1. I smell a lawsuit coming. This tower really makes no sense. Seriously, who is going to buy a condo, starting from $1 million, in Downtown Dallas? This isn't Manhattan. Not even the Trump Tower Chicago starts off that high. What are presales like for the Museum Tower? Why do they feel the need to rush this tower, considering all of the other high vacancies in other condo towers in the area? Dallas continues to amaze me.
  2. New article from the Chron. It doesn't really say anything new, but it's nice for this thing to get more publicity. http://blogs.chron.com/houstonshiring/2010/06/earthquest_adventures_an_eco_g_1.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+houstonchronicle%2Fhoustonshiring+%28Houston%27s+Hiring%29
  3. If they can do this, then this would be really nice. I imagine a movie studios could bring in a lot of "movie" type conventions for Reliant Park. But, what will all this expansion at Reliant Park mean for the GRB? Isn't there suppose to be another convention center hotel across from the Hilton? Oh, and if we were to host the World Cup in 2018 or 2022, Reliant Park is looking like a great place to have the International Broadcast Center. Edit: And I think all of that science stuff would work better with NASA/JSC. Move that stuff over there and put the movie studios in the Astrodome.
  4. I don't really care what you all think. Nigerians are beautiful people. My family over there will give you their last dollar if you needed it, and I enjoy that half of me.
  5. As a child? The last time I went was in 2008. Nigeria has problems (like all places), but it has gotten a lot better. It's worlds different than what it was when I first went in 1993 (from the stories I was told).
  6. Can the Astrodome become the movie studios, but keep the other plans shown in the renderings (hotel, festival plaza, etc.)? Overall, I think that would be the best idea.
  7. You guys act like Lagos is a warzone. Being half Nigerian (dad is from Lagos, mom is from New Orleans) I have had no problems in my times there (been four times). Going to the village (where my grandma lives) can be a problem, but only if you don't know what you're doing., or aren't familiar with the area.
  8. Goldmine. With all the Nigerians in Houston, it's about time that this happens.
  9. They didn't replace the W, with the Le Meridien. Since the beginning, it's been rumored that both are going into this development. That's why the W is upside down.
  10. Okay? Why does that matter? It's a good article, that points to some of the problems in Atlanta.
  11. Well, according to this, Houston was never an option: Link: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/breaking/7025861.html
  12. Any possibility that some of the Houston suburbs start incorporating (with permission from Houston) this decade? I think we're starting to finally see our suburbs grow up now and start attracting more businesses (like the Dallas area).
  13. More at the link. I don't think it's the end of Atlanta. The slow down in growth can help the city beef up its infrastructure for those already there.
  14. He's under contract for five years. The Texans are being EXTREMELY nice by renegotiating his contract. It'll probably be incentive based.

  15. So, I guess Los Angeles has some competition now with Dallas!
  16. Whatever happened to that one proposed building in the Allen Center? I think it was 5 Allen Center?? That's seem like a good location.
  17. You come in on your high horse to request something that no one knows yet.
  18. Other than being the more popular city, I don't know what advantage Chicago has over Houston. It's cheaper to have the HQ in Houston. Not to mention IAH would be the largest hub and more profitable airport than O'Hare. Oh well.
  19. More construction now, instead of planning ahead and doing it before. Right?
  20. Yeah, Morton Ranch is easily the most diverse school in Katy ISD, but I've heard test scores have gotten better over the years there. There will be another high school north of Morton Ranch in the future though. The school is already way over capacity. I've driven through Bridgeland and don't see how it's much different than the new sections of Cinco Ranch. They look exactly the same. Both have similar "rolling" terrain. But Bridgeland will also extend into the far NW parts of Katy, so it can count as both in the future.
  21. Continental/United needs to step on Delta's throat, and have a non-stop to Lagos (from IAH), just like Delta does with Atlanta. It's a cash cow waiting to happen.
  22. What's so bad about Morton Ranch? Oh come on, there really is no difference between South Katy and any part of the "nicer" areas of Cypress. Seriously. Besides that, I think Katy homes have higher value than ones in Cypress, especially Green Trails/Kelliwood. Not to mention the Katy is more connected to Houston than Cypress. AND Katy actually has an identity, while Cypress-Fairbanks is one jumbled mess. Cinco Ranch is the king of all master-planned communities in the Houston area. Then, you have others like Seven Meadows, Cross Creek Ranch, Firethorne, etc. You can't seriously tell me the ones in Cypress are better, and vice versa (though, Cinco Ranch is the exception...no MPC in Cypress is like Cinco).
