    Go METRORail

Anyone see this? http://www.gometrora...g/go/site/2491/ I guess we know what METRO will officially be calling the lines upon completion. They also have a cool construction update chart.
  2. This is why, in hindsight, The Woodlands Parkway should have been made into a freeway. Much like the Grand Parkway through Cinco Ranch. Mobility would be much better.
  3. Yep. It'll be like riding Greyhound to Galveston if the BRT is just another bus on the road. Maybe if it had it's own ROW. This is why I think just adding in commuter rail is better.
  4. It works pretty good though. I like the way it was setup out there. They have different agencies running the same routes at times, too. Considering how many people live out there though, it works.
  5. Houston becoming more like Los Angeles.
  6. These city vs city arguments are pretty dumb. Makes everyone look childish.
  7. 2004 was very nice. Fun Christmas.
  8. Bye, Kubiak. It's time for McNair to make a play at Bill Cowher. Dude even said that the Bears and Texans are two teams that "excite him" (according to the NFL Network). The Bears would not have enough money for him because Lovie Smith makes too much money for them to cut him and then try to sign Cowher. The Texans can though...
  9. Schiltterbahn >> Splashtown, but point taken. A waterpark in this area would be great. Would definitely get much use from all of the Katy kids. Will probably be a parents drop-off or teen hangout type of place.
  10. Apparently, Houston lost the most jobs out of all of Texas. And by a decent margin: http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/stories/2009/08/31/daily35.html Houston, loss of 80,800 jobs (-3.1%) _______________________________ McAllen-Edinburg, Texas, gain of 2,900 jobs (+1.4%) El Paso, Texas, gain of 2,400 jobs (+0.9%) Austin, loss of 1,400 jobs (-0.2%) San Antonio, loss of 6,400 jobs (-0.8%) Dallas-Fort Worth, loss of 45,400 jobs (-1.5%) Damn.
  11. Easily. Just look at our own division. The Tinnbreads' website is horrible.
  12. This is our year. There is no reason why we can't win at least 10 games. Just look at our schedule, as it's the easiest the Texans have ever had since they came into the league. They have the talent (easily). They just need to up their mental game and we'll be there.
  13. Discuss. Training camp started July 31st. This is easily the best team since their inception. We definitely have all of the pieces. They just need to not commit as many turnovers and they need to improve the red zone efficiency.
  14. Didn't think we would get it until we built a soccer-specific stadium: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/soc/6549550.html
  15. I'll give you the GM Plant and UT-Arlington (which is a commuter campus by the way), but other than that, no. Arlington got suckered with the Rangers and especially Cowboys stadium. Hoping both would push them up to "big city" status. Six Flags? Hurricane Harbor? Nah. Now, I wouldn't call Plano, Irving, or Richardson bedroom communities. Both have a ton of companies and business districts. Arlington doesn't. I'd say Arlington is an overgrown Grand Prairie.
  16. Ha, it was a joke. Veggie Delights are only vegetables, but they charge you for it. you can get free vegetables on all other subs.

  17. That sucks, especially about those jobs. The last thing we need is more job cuts right now. Hopefully Continental gets back up. It use to be one of the more profitable airlines and service has always been great.
