  1. Its' not my favorite Houston building but setting fires to it is not the answer. I hope they find the fool that did this.
  2. I've discovered the HEB there and love it. Try to visit whenever I am out on that end of town. As for traffic. Pearland is getting nightmarish in terms of traffic at those major intersections and all up and down 518 and 2234 (no lights). They better get a handle on that.
  3. The mean streets of Sugar Land: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6189559.html
  4. You make some good points. I feel there is a lot of inner-loop snobbery on this board. It seems that if you're not inside the Loop (610 not the Beltway) you're somehow a weirdo or whacko. As I've said before, people often live where they can afford and what makes sense for their lifestyles and commutes. I bought a house here (well, actually the bank did and I am just leasing it from them) because it is 5 miles to my suburban job. I'd love to live IN the city, but I'd have a 20+ mile reverse commute which seems pretty illogical to me.
  5. When I fly into the DC area I really prefer BWI (Baltimore-Washington International). It is really closer to Baltimore, but I like the design and the in-and-out ease in which it was designed, over the madhouse I consider at Reagan National.
  6. I'm sure they're under some sort of contract and just can't willy-nilly refuse to do something. As I have never been a super-model, I wouldn't know...
  7. Me too ... worked for DC Metropolitan Police for a bit. Man, some of the photos I've seen make this look like a Disney rendering. Sorry I don't have anything subjective to add to the investigation, but feel even more sorry for this person's family and friends (and all the family and friends of others who are victims of crimes).
  8. It would be really cool if somehow they could make the white panels on the top of the Dome light up like with LED fire or something. Kinda like those panels in that Michael Jackson Billy Jean video.
  9. I am just wondering if there are any major area politicians or business people using HAIF? If so, are they contributing to the conversations about the rail, Dome renovation, etc. I doubt they would make themselves known, but it would kinda be cool if we knew they were listening to all the great ideas (even the kookie ones) that get generated with our discussions.
  10. Glide that sucker down onto the parking lot and tow it in. I am sure the Dome has some huge doors somewhere?
  11. Didn't seem all that hysterical to me. If I was the model, I would have sued the designer for making me walk on those ridiculous shoes.
  12. Tranquility Park would be a fitting place for it. Aren't the water towers there supposed to be symbols of the rockets for manned missions..? And not really understanding why they are SELLING it ... weren't tax dollars used to pay for it many times over any how?
  13. Lock, I've always wondered about that too ... isn't it bordered by rail to the north though? Maybe that's why?
  14. Anti-Israili and anti-Hamas. Both groups hate each other equally.
  15. Thanks for the voice of reason. I see this thread becoming a flame war.
  16. You got that right! Everyone on here has an agenda to prove. And most of the agendas are them proving they're right.
  17. I did too at first until I read the 1st description again closely. In fact, I cannot picture where that was and might have to do a drive-by to jar my memory.
  18. I swear ... astronauts must have nerves of steels. Those things are almost held together with glue at this point. I think they should bring them to Houston and place them at the JSP. Might increase tourism for Houston and NASA.
  19. Ours stayed up forever too (prolly why I hate Christmas trees now) and were brown, trailing needles, and just past its prime.
