Following the filing of an architectural barriers project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), two plan reviewing fee permits were filed today for 3401 Canal St. Details from the permits: Use: Conversion, retail; One-stop re-roof, retail FCC Group: Non-residential alteration As posted previously, local coffee shop Slowpokes is opening a storefront at 3401 Canal St. It's one of several forthcoming additions to The Plant / Second Ward. The development is from Concept Neighborhood.

  3. Dak & Bop is closing its doors this week at 1805 W 18th St, according to a CultureMap article published today. More from the article: The 18th Street location will serve its final meals no later than December 31.   4. A closer view of the floor plan for Adelaide Downtown. The floor plan is included in the screenshot @Urbannizer shared a few posts up. Adelaide Downtown is a five-story micro apartment building from Mirador Group. It's planned for 1218 Leeland St.
  5. In addition to the Sawyer Yards master plan document, a table with East Washington tenants is also listed. It was included with recent platting approval documents. The tenants are listed under each building. Furthermore, the table notes plans for future tenants in East Washington's new phases. As mentioned in the above post, Lovett sought approval for a subdivision plat. Included on the plat are nearby parcels that will soon become part of Lovett's East Washington development. According to the table, there are plans for phase two of 1902 Washington Ave. Below are the proposed tenants: Future restaurant (possible a neighborhood eatery) - 3,500 sf Future retail - 3,500 sf Future office - 12,800 sf Current tenants at 1902 Washington Ave include: Tacodeli Harper & Jones Lovett Industrial Platypus Brewing Aiko
  6. 1902 Washington / 1902 Washington Ave appears to be part of a collection of buildings that make up East Washington. East Washington is the name Lovett Commercial marketed 1818 Washington Ave until a few years ago. According to documents submitted recently to the city's planning commission, East Washington also incorporates 1902 Washington Ave. The Sawyer Yards master plans seems to indicate 1902 Washington Ave will include a phase two. Next to the existing 1902 Washington building is are two proposed buildings highlighted. One of the buildings may consist of two levels totaling 19,800 sf.

East Washington is the name Lovett Commercial marketed 1818 Washington Ave until a few years ago. According to documents submitted recently to the city's planning commission, East Washington also incorporates 1814 Washington Ave. Previously, Lovett Commercial marketed 1814 Washington by itself. Until around 2017 or 2018, the property was listed on Lovett Commercial's website at Washington Dittman Building. B&B Butchers and The Butcher Shop operate out of the former Dittman Building at 1814 Washington Ave. Both are food & beverage concepts from Berg Hospitality Group.

  18. Houston Chronicle published an update today regarding Tesseract / 5Tesseract. The restaurant is chef Billy Kin's casual izakaya concept. It opens to the public December 28. Initially going by the name Tesseract, the restaurant was announced in 2021. It's located at 3119 White Oak Dr. 5Tesseract is adjacent to Kin's omakase concept 5Kinokawa. From Houston Chronicle: 5Tesseract, at 3119 White Oak in the same building as 5Kinokawa, is Kin’s take on an izakaya, a Japanese bar where customers snack on small dishes and drink after work or deep into the night. Unlike 5Kinokawa, which seems almost hidden despite its location on a busy stretch of White Oak, the bar is filled with natural light.   22. On last week's planning commission agenda, Glenhaven Plaza was listed. It is one of several development plats with variance requests up for a public hearing on January 11, 2024. I think the replat for Glenhaven Plaza was an agenda draft item for the planning commission's November 2 meeting. Also, I sharpened the rendering some. The one on Medistar's website is a bit blurry. A description from the website: Innovation Tower will be an expansive high-rise mixed-use development, located at the southern edge of the Texas Medical Center and adjacent to the InterContinental Houston – Medical Center Hotel and Latitude Med Center Apartments, also developed by Medistar.
