  1. My fingers are crossed. I think it will be a great addition. I enjoyed the pantry & specialty items sold last year. Thank you!
  2. The Houston Chronicle mentioned Autry Park and other new mixed-uses a few days ago. Buried in the article is a new restaurant opening in the Autry Park mixed-use development named Auden. Auden is from new hospitality group Nitecap Hospitality. Their Instagram doesn't have much to offer in details, but going off the food photos on the owners' Instas alone, this may be promising. http://instagram.com/audenhtx https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/retail/article/Houston-retail-districts-nature-COVID-16531270.php
  3. I have not read the other 10 pages in this thread, so I don't know if this was shared. If not, I think the restaurants listed are Benjamin Berg of Berg Hospitality. Earlier this year, CultureMap and possibly other publications reported Berg is leasing space for several concepts for the Autry Park mixed-use. The names of the restaurants weren't disclosed. One of the restaurants is named Annabelle's and the other Benjamin's Cut. I think the latter may be similar to Underbelly Hospitality's Georgia James Tavern.
  4. Delilah's is the second Texas Tower restaurant from Chicago restaurant group What If Syndicate (Etta being the other as shared in a previous post in the thread). No clue what the menu will center on at Delilah's yet. It's a new concept. Another is under construction in Chicago. I'm sure both will have beautiful interiors.
  5. @architecktont is correct regarding the Montrose Collective Southwest plat or phase two. A rendering of the proposed renovations to the collection of buildings that include Uchi and soon-to-open Idle Hands was included in the latest Montrose Collective leasing brochure. It's located on page 14 - really small and easy to miss. https://8e87c62f-5dfb-40b9-a567-3b15184f7b32.filesusr.com/ugd/8bb064_942fedd587d24cf6b5713e385ad1bd87.pdf Here is the visual from the brochure to get a better idea of what the renovations may entail.
  6. I'm not sure either. Comparing blocks included in the initial Fairview District project to a few properties under renovation or intended for renovation, SFT Investments is working on something. Whether it's a retooling of Fairview District or what, I don't know. But I look forward to reading about SFT Investment's plans when they're ready to provide an official announcement. I know Fusion Eats is moving into Gratifi's old space. CultureMap shared the news. That site is owned by SFT Investments and was part of Fairview District. Also, I recently noticed a building permit submitted for renovations at 2405 Genesee. A house sits on the property but the permit connects to SFT Investments and their entity Fairview Corridor. Planned for the site is an Italian restaurant from one of the owners of Pass & Provisions. The restaurant is named Elro. Elro is on Instagram if any of you want to follow for updates: @elrohtx
  7. The link to the leasing brochure for 1658 Westheimer Rd https://www.rue-re.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Houston-1658-Westheimer-Brochure.pdf The site plan
  8. After One Fifth completes its run at 1658 Westheimer Rd, it seems Chris Shepherd & Underbelly Hospitality won't extend their lease. The Lower Westheimer space is available for lease and is being marketed as of last month. With multiple restaurants planned for the Houston Farmers Market on Airline and Regent Square in River Oaks, it's not much a surprise Underbelly Hospitality may not have additional plans for the Montrose property. It seems the owner(s) of the 1658 Westheimer property have found at least one tenant, so far. The Salty, a fancy donut (doughnut) shop based in Miami is listed as a tenant. I knew the Salty had its eyes on Houston when news of their expansion into the Dallas market made news two years ago, so, it was only a matter of time. The Houston location will be the donut shop's third outpost in Texas. The Salty will be in good company with neighbors Common Bond and Voodoo Doughnut. https://rue-re.com/portfolio-item/1658-westheimer-houston-tx
  9. 5888 Westheimer was the previous site of Houston's restaurant. The restaurant closed in 2019. After two years on the market, the property was leased sometime in early June (at least that's when the listing was last updated before being removed in mid to late June). Replacing the former Houston's is a new restaurant and lounge named the Warwick. This may be a collaborative project from Steve Rogers (Prospect Park, Bar 5015), Mazan Baltagi (Slowpokes, Christian's Tailgate), and maybe others. I emailed all the relevant news organizations covering Houston's food & beverage scene about this in June. I thought at least Eater Houston would report this since Eater as a whole covers rumors of potential new restaurants and bars. Unfortunately, they decided to sit on this as the Houston site does with most news and tips I send their way, many of which locals want to know. And many have wondered what would come of the former Houston's restaurant near the Galleria area. A few days ago, Steve Rogers announced the Warwick. He didn't, however, provide the address but it is planned for 5888 Westheimer. Along with announcement on both his Instagram and the Warwick's Instagram, Rogers uploaded a 3D model video of the proposed design. https://imgur.com/HZHlF3D Instagram: @ thewarwickhouston
  10. Oh and according to several Instagram food bloggers and vloggers, Post Houston and Post Market will have it's grand opening November 13. Last week, Lovett Commercial hosted a hard hat tour for influencers. You can scope out the latest build out updates by searching posts tagging Post Houston or posts geotagged at Post Houston.
  11. Local small batch craft ice cream parlor Flower & Cream is likely opening a food stall at Post Houston's Post Market. I haven't received confirmation, but I do know the business is planning another location. If true (and it's very likely it is), this will be their second location in Houston. Also, some of you may have heard rumors of Turkey Leg Hut possibly opening a food stall at 401 Franklin. It's been rumored for at least two or three years. I remember reading an Instagram comment about this from someone involved with creating a curated tenant roster for Post Market. Supposedly, Lovett reached out to Turkey Leg Hut to express their interest in the restaurant joining their food hall lineup. It's possible the next round of food stalls and restaurants announced for Post Market may include Turkey Leg Hut. I also wouldn't count out one or a few more FAM Hospitality concepts. Prior to the last round of food hall announcements this summer, I had a hunch more concepts from Paul Qui & FAM Hospitality were on the way and I was right. Plus it seems Lovett's Kirby Liu is all in on Qui when lots of Houstonians aren't, at least judging from some of his past Instagram posts & photos with Qui (some since deleted).
  12. I thought there were older updates in the thread about Susiecakes in the Rice Village development, but I think they were removed. Susiecakes closed its Rice Village location last year. Moving into the space at 2563 Amherst St is Sprinkles Cupcakes.
  13. Ike's Love & Sandwiches expansion to the Rice Village area was reported months ago. I think Houston Chronicle listed it in their retail round-up a few months back. And Houston Business Journal reported this in May. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2021/05/20/ikes-love-sandwiches-houston-rice-village.html
  14. All of the posts for Half Price Books should be in their own thread as it was previously. The property is NOT owned by Rice Village and it's not part of the Rice Village development. This was stated in several articles. My understanding is this thread is dedicated to the Rice Village development only. Properties like the former Half Price Books, Mi Luna, the former Buffalo Wild Wings are NOT part of the Rice Village development. Each are owned by different companies with NO TIES to the company who owns and manages Rice Village. It's why those properties or businesses are not listed on Rice Village's website or the map showing all the businesses that are part of the Rice Village development.
  15. Dallas-based restaurant group Lombardi Family Concepts is opening a dining concept at Uptown Park. Their new concept, Regine or maybe Regine's, will occupy the former space of the Tasting Room, 1101 Uptown Park Blvd, Ste 18. I'm not sure what kind of concept this will entail. I'm not sure of the cuisine, though most of their concepts center on Italian and French cuisines. I'm also not sure if there will be a lounge component.
  16. I think the restaurant Goode Co. is bringing to the Heights is Goode Co. Kitchen & Cantina. Goode Co. applied for a TABC permit under the entity GCKC Heights LLC in June. GCKC = Goode Co. Kitchen & Cantina. And this month, a filing for Goode Co. Kitchen & Cantina at 1801 Yale was submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation.
  17. Goode Co. is leasing the 1801 Yale property, previously home to Down House. From CultureMap: One of Houston's most prominent hospitality groups is coming to The Heights. Goode Company confirmed rumors that it will open a new restaurant in the former Down House space at 1801 Yale St. “Goode Co. is always looking for great spaces and new neighborhoods to become a part of, and we are excited to be opening one of our concepts in the Heights area,” Levi Goode, chef and president of Goode Company Restaurants, said in a statement. “While we don’t have details on the specific concept and opening date, we look forward to doing something Goode in this historic Houston neighborhood.” ...The company operates a number of concepts in the Houston area, including Goode Co. Barbeque, Tex-Mex restaurant Goode Co. Kitchen & Cantina, Goode Co. Seafood, and Armadillo Palace, a comfort food restaurant and live music venue. https://houston.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/07-21-21-goode-co-new-restaurant-the-heights-yale-street-down-house/
  18. From CultureMap, February 2021: pioneering Heights restaurant has served its last meal. Down House closed after service on Sunday, February 21, the restaurant announced on social media. In the post, proprietor Chris Cusack thanked the restaurant’s staff for their hard work throughout the restaurant’s 10-year run and encouraged customers to post their favorite memories. Hundreds have responded on both Instagram and Facebook. Cusack tells CultureMap the restaurant closed due to a decline in business brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. “The reality is it just didn’t work anymore in these circumstances,” he says. https://houston.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/02-25-21-down-house-heights-restaurant-closed-shuttered-chris-cusack/
  19. I couldn't find a thread for the property that previously housed Indika at 516 Westheimer in Montrose. If there is one, please move or merge with the existing thread. Before the Loopnet listing for 516 Westheimer was removed a few weeks ago, there was an update in early August regarding the status of the property. The listing was updated as under contract before the listing was removed a week or so later. So, it seems there is a new business leasing the property. I think the new business is Hide & Seek. A Google Map listing for Hide & Seek was created sometime this month. An entity was filed last year. There is no website or Facebook page for Hide & Seek, but there is an Instagram account for the business at @hideandseekhtx. Their Instagram categorizes Hide & Seek as a restaurant. It could be. Or it's possible this could be a restaurant and lounge, similar to Thirteen, Parma, Lost & Found, Lamp, Bisou, and Kiss.
  20. JFE Franchising, the company behind Snow Fox sushi & the Korean dumpling restaurant that opened last year on Westheimer, Pling, purchased the former Dolce Vita property last year. I sent this news to Eater Houston, but the news outlet decided not to follow up and report the news to their readers, unlike their sister sites ( Eater LA, Eater SF, Eater NY) which report things like this. Plans for the building included an izakaya, according to DBA and permitting records prior to Covid. I don't know if it's still moving forward or not.
  21. A ramen concept has likely signed on as a tenant for Post Market, the food hall and market at Post Houston, 401 Franklin. Ramen Moto, a ramen concept from Mike Tran (Tiger Den), is possibly opening here. Tran previously announced Ramen Moto would join his other restaurants at the Yun-Lin Center in Asiatown. That could still be a possibility (I don't know because I haven't asked). However, it appears Ramen Moto will be part of Post Market's food & beverage roster. Either earlier this week or last week, an entity for Ramen Moto Post HTX was filed, suggesting this may be another food stall tenant for Post Market.
  22. The Loop, located on the ground level of Hanover Rice Village is open. CultureMap reported details: Creative churros are coming to Rice Village. The Loop Handcrafted Churros will open in the Hanover Rice Village on Saturday, August 28. https://houston.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/08-19-21-the-loop-handcrafted-churros-new-dessert-shop-hanover-rice-village/
  23. A new bar is in the works for East Village. The name is Nights & Weekends or Nights and Weekends. It will be situated either next to Chapman & Kirby or part of Chapman & Kirby at 2118 Lamar St, Suite 100-B. The East Village development is also home to Koffeteria, EightyTwo, Seaside Poke, Miss Carousel, Vinny's, Indianola, and the Secret Group.
