  1. Here is more from Houston Chronicle on Graffiti, the new restaurant from Clark Cooper Concepts or related hospitality group Good Vibe Hospitality. This is opening at 1001 California St, Suite B-101 within Montrose Collective. From the article: Another soon-to-be-announced Houston hospitality group will be heading Graffiti Raw, a restaurant inspired by the casual vibes of California's Venice Beach and the food culture of Tulum in Mexico — "the kind of place that's open for brunch and early lunch (where) you can show up in shorts, you can show up in jeans, and then in the evening it's a really fun spot," said Radom. Expect a focus on raw dishes like ceviche as well as fire-grilled meats and seafood. Radom says the secret chef is "a very-well traveled guy." https://preview.houstonchronicle.com/dining/exciting-new-restaurants-shops-coming-to-16809379
  2. It's the same restaurants and information I listed above last week. I emailed Eater Houston and other news outlets with dedicated dining coverage about the newer additions (that weren't previously reported) last week after I posted the brochure in the forum. It's probably why Radom Capital issued a press release due to multiple inquiries from local publications. 👇👇
  3. The restaurant at 1401 Montrose Blvd is named Carmalito. I don't know if this is another restaurant from the Mandola family or not.
  4. No. Don Bowie and his hospitality group Culinary Matters have nothing to do with Black Orchid, the restaurant and lounge occupying the former Indika space at 516 Westheimer. Bowie does have a restaurant & lounge that is likely opening this quarter in the Washington Corridor area. That concept is a steakhouse and New American restaurant named Rare, located at 4105 Washington Ave. It will also include a lounge/club.
  5. You're referring to Picnik, a restaurant based in Austin. Picnik is not opening a location at MKT. However, a Houston outpost is coming to Montrose Collective at 888 Westheimer. A few days ago I posted about Picnik & a handful of other tenants slated for Montrose Collective. A few of them, including Picnik haven't been officially announced or either discussed on the forum, but were listed to the Montrose Collective site plan recently. Picnic Supply Co., on the other hand, is a local concept. As mentioned in my past comments in the thread, Picnic Supply Co. is one of three MKT dining concepts from the team behind Wicklow Heights and Kanaloa (RIP).
  6. There is an existing thread about the property in the forum. Mods, please merge this thread with the existing one linked below: https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/46663-1221-w-20th-st @Urbannizer@Highrise Tower
  7. I agree. Still, Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream has a loyal following. The Montrose location may receive a lot of foot traffic from people who don't want to drive to the Heights location.
  8. Mods, for continuity, you may want to consider merging this thread with an older thread about this same property. Also, may want to consider renaming the thread to Hawthorne Square, the name of the shopping center where this is located. @Urbannizer@Highrise Tower https://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/31915-berryhills-on-montrose-closed
  9. They're the same restaurant. This was reported by several local news outlets when the Katy location opened over the summer. From Eater Houston: "Lao Sze Chuan has expanded its footprint with additional locations in Illinois, Minnesota, and Connecticut. “We will open 10 more locations in the next couple of years,” Jack Deng, Lao Sze Chuan Katy’s general manager, tells Eater. Local businessman Xiaowei Liu is behind the Texas expansion." “ 'The plan is to open in Dallas and Austin, with three more locations in Houston next year,' says Darren Ren, another representative of the company." https://houston.eater.com/2021/8/30/22648299/lao-sze-chuan-chinese-restaurant-open-katy-chicago
  10. Yep. Eater Houston reported this in August. The article revealed Lao Size Chuan's plans to expand to Montrose. Eater reported the inner loop location would be in the Hawthorne Square shopping center, 3407 Montrose Blvd. Blurb: “ 'The plan is to open in Dallas and Austin, with three more locations in Houston next year,' says Darren Ren, another representative of the company. At present, a Montrose location is currently in the works at 3407 Montrose Boulevard, but construction and other delays related to COVID-19 have made it difficult to predict an opening date with accuracy." https://houston.eater.com/2021/8/30/22648299/lao-sze-chuan-chinese-restaurant-open-katy-chicago
  11. Yes, Sweet Paris is relocating to the space previously home to Mercantile and Plate + Bottle. Community Impact reported this back in October. https://communityimpact.com/houston/bellaire-meyerland-west-university/dining/2021/10/21/crepe-focused-sweet-paris-to-relocate-within-rice-village
  12. Renderings of Muse, restaurant opening at 3210 W Dallas. The images are from Muse's website and Instagram.
  13. Finally, a tenant for the 1719 Westheimer property. According to a filing yesterday with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream is opening it's third Houston area scoop shop here. The filing lists this summer as an estimated completion date for renovations.
  14. Aside from the proposed merchandising plan above, an updated one was accidently posted last spring on the East End District's Facebook page. However, no one posted a screenshot here. So, I don't know if the most recent site plan lines up with the placement of Lick and Broham on the previous one. Here is an updated site plan for phase 1 of the East River mixed-use. Broham, Lick, and Urban Dental are shown (all were previously announced & discussed, but I don't recall seeing them listed on an updated site plan until this month, though it's possible I overlooked it). This is from East River's Loopnet, updated last week. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/100-Jensen-Dr-Houston-TX/20944149 East River Retail Brochure (Jan. 2022)
  15. Ciel, the restaurant and lounge coming to 4411 San Felipe, posted an Instagram story and updated its IG bio yesterday. Both the stories and bio provide more insight into what kind of concept this is going to be. From their Instagram story: "We're inspired by the festive restaurants and lounges more commonly found in Western Europe. Boasting energetic vibes with live music in the evenings." "At Ciel, you'll soon be able to indulge in our sophisticated menu featuring modern Japanese and French cuisine complemented by craft cocktails with curated champagne and wine selections." So, it sounds like Ciel will be to 4411 San Felipe as Bisou is to River Oaks District. https://cielhtx.com https://instagram.com/cielhtx
  16. Last month, nail salon Glosslab established an entity for Glosslab Uptown Park LLC. Maybe this is planned for Uptown Park in Houston? https://glosslab.com
  17. No. The restaurant named Graffiti is not connected to the shuttered Montrose restaurant Gratifi (pronounced "gratify"). It's also not connected to the long gone Graffiti's on Union St from Piper Hospitality (off Washington Ave). As I commented above, Graffiti, which is opening at Montrose Collective, is a new restaurant concept from Clark Cooper Concepts. 👇👇
  18. The most recent retail brochure for Montrose Collective includes an updated rendering of 906 Westheimer, showing a glimpse of how the facade renovation may look once completed. There is also a site plan for that portion and of Montrose Collective.
  19. Unlike the previous site plans, the most recent retail brochure includes an updated site plan listing tenants and prospective tenants. Food & beverage tenants • Uchi • Idle Hands • Van Leeuwen (leased) • La La Land (leased) • Marmo (leased) • Graffiti (leased) • Chelsea Oyster Bar (leased) • Picnik (leased) • TBA bottle shop (in lease) Retail tenants • Reformation (leased) • State & Liberty (leased) • Eye Elegance (leased) • TBA sustainable food wear shop (in lease) • Amano (leased) • Buck Mason (leased) • TBA jewelry shop (leased) • TBA jewelry shop (in lease) • TBA jewelry shop (in lease) • TBA women's apparel store (letter of intent) • TBA women's apparel store (letter of intent) • TBA men's apparel store (letter of intent) • TBA athleisure store (letter of intent) Services • Hue Salon (leased, relocating) • Sunluxe Tanning (leased) • TBA nail salon (letter of intent) • TBA med spa (in lease) • Bayou City Smiles (leased) • Ivirma (leased) • Solidcore (leased) The med spa may be Sisu. It's listed as a tenant in the most recent brochure. 20. Updated Montrose Collective retail and office leasing brochures for 2022 were uploaded recently to Loopnet. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/888-Westheimer-Rd-Houston-TX/17667015/ Retail brochure: https://images1.loopnet.com/d2/vID7M2bf8isS3CVdHeK3xeYQurp9JFyRxgtsy7t4yz8/Montrose Collective Retail 2022.pdf Office brochure: https://images1.loopnet.com/d2/4HJplNEHhV9iSuAGnEDbFxc2zfyByDNS_nFYVStx63o/Montrose Collective Office 2022.pdf
  21. I saw this a few days ago too. Unlike most of the food and beverage tenants so far at Montrose Collective, Graffiti ( 1001 California St, Suite B-101) is local. This is a new restaurant concept from Clark Cooper Concepts, I believe.
