  1. Houston Business Journal published an article about the top out of Rone Residences at 2311 Westheimer Rd. The article is mostly a rehash from the press release. There is one detail about the luxury apartment building that's news to me (although this may be old news): The pool deck will have a 75-foot lap pool and a separate cold plunge pool. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2024/04/09/high-street-residential-rone-residences-apartments.html While the news of the pool has been reported before, I don't recall reading anything regarding the length and the addition of a cold plunge pool.

Details from the permit: Use: Remodel, retail FCC Group : Non-residential alteration Elara Orthodontics is opening on the second floor of 10 and Heights. Earlier this year, the orthodontics office announced its expansion to the Heights area.

It's taking over Kraftsmen Baking's former space at Heights Clocktower / Heights Clock Tower.

  10. A Class 2 subdivision replat (C2R) was recently submitted for three lots at 4107 McKinney St and 4109 McKinney St. The subdivision plat is named Downtown Eastwood District. According to the information submitted, the reason for replat is "to create one unrestricted reserve." It looks like this will be on the agenda for the next Houston planning commission meeting on April 18. The L.M. Greco Building at 4109 McKinney St will soon be home to Willow's Texas BBQ.

  15. Magnol / Magnol French Baking officially announces its expansion to the Heights. The Leader published an article today with additional details. Last summer, Magnol acquired the 1115 E 11th St property. The proprietors of Andy's Home Cafe previously owned the property that also housed their restaurant.   17. Last week, High Street Residential published a press release on the topping out of Rone Residences. Previously known as Residences on Westheimer and River Oaks on Westheimer, the 12-story apartment building is located at 2311 Westheimer. High Street Residential (HSR), the residential subsidiary of Trammell Crow Company, and JV Partner Daiwa House Industry Co. Ltd. topped out construction at Rone Residences, a 12-story multifamily community located in Houston’s River Oaks/Upper Kirby neighborhood.   19. In the latest leasing materials for East Blocks, the on the blocks map has been updated slightly. Pitch 25 and 8th Wonder Brewery are shown on the map now. Both were previously announced as part of the East Blocks hub last fall.

According to the information submitted, the reason for replat is "to create three lots and revise the building line." Single family residential is planned for the property, possibly townhomes.   23. Two months after buying the 1962 Lexington St property, Forest Financial LTD demolished the buildings once occupied by restaurants Papa Mio and Ambrosia. Papa Mio was located at 2006 Lexington St. Ambrosia was located at 2002 Lexington St.
  24. The 1962 Lexington St parcel was sold in October. County records indicate Forest Financial LTD acquired the property.
