  1. Recent James Beard award-winner Street to Kitchen will be moving to Concept Neighborhood this fall https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/arts-culture/food/2023/07/20/457409/street-to-kitchen-moving-houston-second-ward-bigger-space/
  2. Turns out they are moving to Concept Neighborhood! I guess they were going with the European definition of walking distance 😜 https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/arts-culture/food/2023/07/20/457409/street-to-kitchen-moving-houston-second-ward-bigger-space/

  4. While dining last night, overheard that Street to Kitchen was working on moving to a space 3X as big "within walking distance" some time this fall. They had to turn away 3 different walk-in groups due to lack of space, so I totally understand.
  5. The developer while at the planning commission said that they intend to operate it themselves, but didn't mention anything about the branding itself. If anyone wants to submit a written comment about the hotel, then email speakercomments.pc@houstontx.gov by July 26 and 2:30 PM.
  6. Painted and window frames up. Have seen regular work on it the last week or so.
  7. Lots and lots of activity on-site when I rode by this morning. A bunch of electricians working on a central box along McKinney.
  8. There was a three-week cycle because the planning commission took the July 4th week off, so I'm guessing they must have accidentally missed their window to extend the validity of the plat.
  9. The name appears to be intended to be SOSO EADO. Excited to see this one moving forward. I think that they must be planning to do some serious-ish modifications to the structure, otherwise they wouldn't need to plat.
  10. @HNathoo Did you post about how you were involved with this property?
  11. Last I looked this was still on the market? For like 2-3X the cost per square foot of the one across the street that just sold. Interesting.
  12. I think the goal will be faster than that, but I'm not holding my breathe. Honestly, it really depends on the mayoral and city council election this year.
  13. Nice to see this one transacting at a much more realistic price of low $60s/sqft. The combined property across the street is still listed at a $172/sqft
  14. Primary entrance along the trail? Amazing. Based on HCAD parcel map, their property only extends towards the trail by 10' tops, so all of t hat fenced in patio area is not realistic unless they rent it from the city. This project would be a great addition!
  15. It was one of the projects that TIRZ 15 was considering funding. There was a station proposed for here originally, so a significant amount of groundwork has already been done.
  16. Chef Benchawan from Street to Kitchen won the James Beard award for Best Chef: Texas tonight. Be sure to grab a reservation as they'll fill up pretty quickly and haven't been lately.
  17. I'm glad that we can cuss on HAIF now. Was always frustrating to have the cuss words replaced with a random word instead.
  18. City of Houston Bicycle Advisory Committee mentioned that this is the next city-focused bike project. Complete street rebuild and extending some form of the Harrisburg Trail and bike lanes to San Jacinto St in downtown 👀
