  1. This is the 4th Dave's Hot Chicken in the Houston area with a 5th coming soon. Looks to have moved into the the old Buffalo Wild Wings. I keep wanting to try the one on Dennis St. in Midtown but every time I drive by the parking lot is full. https://www.daveshotchicken.com https://www.daveshotchicken.com/locations
  2. The Garage is also where Lovett's current office is for now till they get their new HQ's finished at the old Houston Post building. The lot across Oliver has a sign showing a rendering of what Lovett will convert with it to. It's not shown in this Google Street View though. Most of the stuff shown here is now gone.
  3. Website https://www.boonemanoraptshouston.com As far as I know Allen Harrison Companies does their own construction. https://www.allenharrisonco.com https://www.allenharrisonco.com/capabilities/construction/

  6. They don't have this one on their website but they have the one in Garden Heights, Montrose Richmond and the one on Weslayan. The new one in the Heights has a broken link but says it will open in March. I have a feeling it will look like the one on Ella due to the land layout. https://www.bigtexstorage.com

  8. Seems like a lot of money. Design architects only seem to build stores. http://www.tnassociatesinc.com/home.html
  9. Another Loco Gringos favorite, Burrito Electrico.
  10. Loco Gringos was a Dallas band that often did gigs in Houston. I always made a point to catch them when they played here, usually at the Axiom. This is their cover of Sir Doug & Texas Tornados song.
  11. I first saw Dominque Young Unique when Fun Fun Fest was still at Waterloo Park. She became a fashion favorite while in London and was featured in magazines.
  12. They have one sky line, we have at least six. Downtown, Texas Medical Center, West loop/Galleria area, Greenway/Upper Kirby, Energy Corridor and Allen Pkwy/Memorial Drive. They do have some cool looking buildings I wish we could have but we clearly have way more high rises than Austin's Skyline.
  13. "The Allen ruins my view of the empty part of downtown 🤮🤬 " said the reddit Karen.
  14. A company called "Montrose and Marshall LLC" owns 2/3 of the whole block from the alley way west to Montrose Blvd. Could we get another well funded developer to build another high rise? When they first set up the Hop Heads I just happened to talk to one of the owners and he is the one who said the defunct mid rise developer just didn't have the funding to proceed.
  15. Building Design+Construction article about "On Campus Performing Arts Centers and Museums" "Another arts education project that’s drawn attention is Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s (DS+R) design for the Susan and Fayez Sarofim Hall, a $25 million, 50,000-sf building for visual and dramatic arts students, situated on the Houston campus of Rice University. Sarofim Hall, which is scheduled to break ground this year and be completed in 2024, will add to Rice’s already vibrant cultural district that includes the Moody Center for the Arts (which opened in 2017), the newly constructed Brockman Hall for Opera, and Shepherd School of Music’s Alice Pratt Brown Hall." https://www.bdcnetwork.com/campus-performing-arts-centers-and-museums-can-be-talent-magnets-universities
  16. I recall seeing other demo permits for some of the other buildings in this block not to long ago.
  17. Marlowe has a streak on the north side where the pool area is. Assume the chlorine or pool chemicals are the cause? I wonder what they could do to stop this from happening?
  18. The drawing that @Paco Jones included only shows the building front view and it shows an entry and exist on to Waugh. I wonder if he knows if there is also and exit/entry on Rosine St.?
  19. Hops Heads tore down the site last week, wonder what will take its place? Mio Brew has a new shop in the Bacco Grill. Same owner owns both lots and he was the owner of the never built mid rise lot. Mio Brew has a site on Stella Link and N. Braeswood which is or was also a Bacco. I wonder if this concept replaces the Bacco? His Bacco wine shop on Montrose seemed really popular before covid. https://mio-brew-coffee-houston.business.site
