Tiara On The Beach: Condominiums For West End
hindesky replied to ChannelTwoNews's topic in Galveston and the Gulf Islands
Years after the project was first announced, Houston-based developer Satya Inc. has hired Ludlow & Associates as the general contractor and set a groundbreaking timeline for Tiara on the Beach. The project will be among the first new condo projects on Galveston Island in about 15 years, the Houston Chronicle reported in February 2022. Construction could take 24 to 30 months once it begins. Satya CEO Sunny Bathija told the Chronicle at the time that the building would draw inspiration from Miami beachfront condos, with floor-to-ceiling windows, concierge services, private wine storage, dog grooming, housekeeping services and an activities coordinator to plan things like yoga and water aerobics classes. The residences will range from 1,661 SF to 4,306 SF. https://www.bisnow.com/houston/news/construction-development/galveston-gulf-front-mid-rise-condo-construction-set-for-this-summer-123514- 15 replies

Francis Scott Key Bridge Baltimore, Md
hindesky replied to hindesky's topic in Meanwhile, In The Rest of the World...
I wonder why there weren't any tugs attached to it or near it in order to assist it during transit? I'm pretty sure that oil, chemical tankers coming in to the port of Houston have to have at least 2 tugs during it's travel up the ship channel, other ships don't require any until docking. -

You can see the ship lost electrical power several times before it hit the bridge, this video is sped up. -

Mural artist Dragon76art on the Shell Energy Soccer stadium north wall. I didn't see the butterfly mural till I got home but it's on the newly purchased building that Harris County bought at 1001 Fannin St. The mural other mural is on the 1111 Main St parking garage building.
