  1. A confident dismantling of King Felix and an great increase in urban feel from the cheap seats. Good stuff, good stuff.
  2. I posted this in the Nicholson going up thread, but it more properly goes here. Chase keeping some of the parcel to build on. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Chase-bank-puts-Heights-land-up-for-sale-11019760.php
  3. It strikes me that this thread may have to proliferate. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Chase-bank-puts-Heights-land-up-for-sale-11019760.php
  4. It's sort of funny how this pictures exists but if you turn 90 degrees on that balcony you'll see five empty lots.
  5. It's my favorite place to eat so I thought I should post this here (out of loyalty.) http://www.houstonpress.com/restaurants/new-houston-restaurant-pop-pan-opens-in-oak-forest-fall-2017-9273629
  6. There is a lot of work going on around the property. Men are digging up the ground between the road and the Nicholson facing property line, and there are people working on 19th street. The gates to the water work plant open. A lot of energy expended but little else to report. The Chase Bank building has for sale signs up.
  7. As a person living in the Tanglewood area I like to think of a line up Washington either connecting and Shepherd and then going down 11th, or connecting at Hemptstead. But the light rail of my imagination goes all over the place.
  8. I'm a little surprised no one posted this. Was down at my parents, got a look at an actual physical paper. And this was on it. About a grant for infrastructure. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/article/Grant-seen-as-a-boost-for-Houston-Spaceport-10952195.php
  9. Every time I see a rendering like this for an area like that I think "I'll take the office building and the residential building for midtown please."
  10. I like neartown, but how about this: Allen Parkway. I feel like Allen Parkway winds so much it covers enough ground to call the area that. Also, I went out to Buffalo Bayou Park today. And I took some pictures (panos) to give the site some more visual context. These are from the Police Memorial.
  11. I'm a little vexed by this. I like it, it looks very nice. Like it should be in east midtown. But I live near this and I run through the streets down there sometimes, and every neighborhood thereabouts always has narrow streets and cars parked along the ditches, and it's tough to drive and also to run safely.
  12. If I'm recalling my Dante correctly, the third circle of hell is rail-naysayers constantly being pursued by trams.
  13. It's a stunning building in the very heart of the city. That garage, though, is...flimsy looking.
  14. This is from a week back. I posted it on the Arabella page but I can't seem to see the image on any device. It's a pano and this tall tower is in the background.
  15. The surfhouse is cool, but I'm really excited that Panini & Provisions is staying. It's my favorite restaurant in all of the "Heights" (including the actual Heights.) By the way, thank you CrockpotandGravel for all the updates around the greater Heights.
  16. I heard a lot of good things and was always saying I should go there when I have cash on hand, but I never did. Now I feel like I helped kill FC.
  17. The Tower of London in rouged brick built on a parking lot is something I'd beg for in Houston. Edit: Yeah, meant brick.
  18. The school announced Monday that it will break ground in September on a new music and opera building designed by Allan Greenberg Architect LLC. http://www.chron.com/entertainment/arts-theater/article/Rice-to-break-ground-on-new-performing-arts-hall-10806079.php
  19. To hammer home Angostura's point, both are similar (though they're larger) to Karbach Brewery near Dacoma street, maybe two miles away.
