  1. I really don't see this going anywhere as it is currently planned. The site is far from ideal for a posh urban enclave.
  2. It looks as though work is finally underway to convert 2401 Main St into a bar/lounge. As far as I can tell, the name is going to be Traffic?
  3. I noticed that as well. To me it looked like they were tying into the sewer or water main.
  4. It's hiding under the name "Old Central Bank Building." Here's a link: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/90-old-central-bank-building/
  5. I can't tell if those are supposed to be rooftop decks or just an out-of-sight place for the A/C condensers. And I definitely agree with Sparrow about the parking lot.
  6. It looks like they are finally removing the windows on the front side. As of 3PM:
  7. Here's a picture from last night, which was taken shortly before someone across the street tried to sell me Oxycontin... things can only go up from here!!!
  8. Soooo... I don't use Twitter, but was anyone aware that this project has been tweeting updates (for over a year) about the building's progress from an insider perspective? I don't believe that anyone else has posted this: https://twitter.com/CentralSquareTX
  9. I walked by around 5 this evening and unfortunately the front is the same as usual. But check out the progress on the side!!!
  10. I totally agree with you on the first point. As for the proposed bus terminal location, I think it should be near Burnett Transit Center/Casa de Amigos Rail Stop. It has light rail and bus stops, right on I-10, near 59 and 45... but there must be a reason they haven't moved.
  11. Hopefully this bar/restaurant will spur a non-resi development in the empty lot across the street: http://houston.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/06-29-14-midtown-makeover-massive-new-restaurant-bar-bakery-in-an-old-garage-looks-to-change-a-neighborhood/
  12. Looks like work is well underway now! http://houston.eater.com/archives/2014/06/11/holleys-seafood-restaurant-oyster-bar-coming-in-july.php
  13. I walked by this afternoon and they have most of the lower floors gutted, but I didn't hear anything more than a generator running. I wish they would hurry up take those broken/dirty windows out. Gaping holes in the building would look better and allow Larry to take better pictures for us
  14. I feel like Larry might own a helicopter (although I haven't seen one hovering over Midtown). It seems like every one of his snaps are above the roofline, with a perfect shot of the subject development. Nice shots, man.
  15. I want to say that building was sold to Midtown Redevelopment Authority a while back, but I don't recall if they ever proposed a use for the building/lot. It's definitely been another wise purchase of behalf of the MRA because that lot will bring big bucks after the Mid Main and MATCH constructions are complete.
  16. I got excited when I saw those a few days ago. The parking level is coming along nicely too. I'll snap some pics sometime this week.
  17. It looks like the tagger was working harder to put the graffiti up across the street.
  18. That's what I was thinking. As a new denizen of Houston, it's been on my list of must see places. From the pics it looks like it might trump my visit to the top of Williams Tower.
  19. That's an interesting point. I haven't looking at the downtown housing incentive program in detail, but I wonder if they are paid after the project is completed or at the end of the fiscal year in which the project begins (which would inject additional capital). It definitely seems as though they would lock in the credits even if the program were to be terminated after a short time due to a large number of builders participating.
