  1. My guess in the block across from 2016 Main, although I would love to see those empty storefronts torn down.
  2. Renderings finally posted in another topic. Very exciting. http://s.lnimg.com/attachments/A55B766C-A6A3-49E0-8EF2-BCB5680D4D1E.pdf
  3. Nice! Definitely a hot corner right now. This rendering quite a bit more involved than the one that I saw. Are they still looking at a 9 month delivery? This also shows the Camden Apts at the Superblock opening 2016.
  4. I don't see the park being cancelled as half of the land is owned by the MRA, and the land swap was contingent on building a park. If he is planning to build a parking lot, this is a major conflict of interest with his position on the Super Bowl Bid Committee. I just called the MRA office to see if they could provide details, but they were already in the board room at that point. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  5. Anyone know what's up with the lot at Caroline & McGowen? It's been completely cleared of the overgrown brush and trees, and the gate is locked for the first time that I can remember.. Further investigation reveals that an LLC was formed last year under 2515 Caroline, Ltd. I hope they get something going before the Caroline street renovation begins! This might be a good place for a mixed use with a quick casual restaurant or coffee shop anchor, but I'm hoping for anything other than townhouses. ^Is this too much to ask for?
  6. Ask, and you shall receive: (from their facebook page)
  7. Nice! Thanks Urbannizer. This shows the contact as John Stephen Ford, Jr. http://www.houstontx.gov/housing/workshop20120210/response20120316.pdf And it looks like Steve has been quite busy developing. http://www.bizapedia.com/addresses/1500-NORTH-POST-OAK-ROAD-SUITE-190-HOUSTON-TX-77055.html Anybody have the finesse to scrounge up some renderings?
  8. With their safety record, the overnight security guard could have been joyriding the forklift...
  9. I'm not sure about the previous requirements, but the amendment passed in 2013 has incentives for bike parking and might allow an exeption for parking on one end of this project because of its proximity to light rail. http://www.houstontx.gov/planning/DevelopRegs/offstreet/docs_pdfs/Chapter26_Ordinance_march_2013.pdf
  10. 2401 Main (aka Traffic Lounge) looks to be a month or two away from opening. Also, it looks like the development that was planned across from Alexan apartments has had some reorganizing and the TABC application has been reissued under the name Rose Club.
  11. Google Maps shows it as a parking lot with a bunch of squad cars.
  12. Nice! I hadn't seen these. Even better than the initial ones.
  13. This is the only rendering that I've seen. http://swamplot.com/will-central-square-plaza-look-like-this/2013-01-24/
  14. I saw some survey flags out there today, but I'm not sure if they're new. Other than that, it's just another couple fenced off lots.
  15. They put up a fence shortly after I posted this: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/22649-more-coming-to-midtown/?p=472127 The owner of Club Limelight is building a Vegas-style outdoor lounge and club.
  16. I noticed the fencing on the second lot when I went by there initially. It looked like it had been there for a while, so I wasn't sure it was part of the same project. Has any dirt work been done on the block with the trailer? Perhaps they are just using it as a staging area for equipment and materials? Or maybe it's another project with a SKY BRIDGE!
  17. I was wondering the same thing, since they're basically using a hedgerow and caution tape as barriers. Makes me think they are just clearing the lot now due to the fact that they happen to have someone with an excavator next door.
  18. They might be able to install dampening, but that sound is going to reverberate quite a bit off the concrete walls and ground. It will be really bad for residents if they allow live music.
  19. This is an interesting revelation! I was impressed by his plan for that tract. I can't wait to see what he has planned for this run-down lot.
  20. Too lazy to get out of the car. Here's an updated view of the corner shown in the Google Maps pic.
  21. This lot was pretty sketchy the last time I walked by... looked like either drug or prostitution activity. This is one of the few times even a parking lot would be welcome. From Google Maps:
