  1. On the Hadley side, the restaurant is Tarakaan. Apparently this was announced in April, but I'm just now hearing about it. They have some interior shots on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/tarakaanhouston/photos_stream They're also hiring for all positions if anyone knows someone that wants a service job.
  2. There are a good number of concrete trucks queued at the site. Looks like they're starting to pour the slab for the bottom level of the garage.
  3. This is the equivalent of a homeless lady getting transformed into a super model and you're complaining about her shoes?!?!?! But honestly, it does kinda bug me now that you pointed it out. Her shoes are hideous.
  4. And with the birth of the monorail, HAIF will come out with pitchforks demanding Monorail Level Retail and wondering who could have possibly been in favor of GFR.
  5. Are you sure you attached the correct file? This appears to be the prototype for a new tower crane design that has only been partly installed...
  6. Not sure if the first two renderings have been posted before, but it's the first time I've seen them. The CC entry will be a nice complement to DG. http://www.archpaper.com/news/articles.asp?id=7645#.VecANflk_xW
  7. I've been hoping that someone can take an above shot from 2016 Main... as a bonus, we'll get to see the beautiful Alexan Midtown.
  8. It looks like they're missing some bricks on the top right side of the corner column. I was there when they laid the bricks and didn't notice that before.
  9. Have you heard anything about what's going in on the Hadley side? The initial rendering showed a restaurant going in, but it doesn't seem like much work has been done lately. There's also a pallet of bricks outside on the corner, so I wasn't sure if they're considering throwing a brick veneer on... Not that there's nearly enough to do much of anything.
  10. From what I hear, it's only open Friday and Saturday night. I walked by last night on the way to the rail stop and there were about 100-150 people outside waiting to get in.
  11. Yeah, walked by today and the clock looks the same. I usually see it from the ground, so maybe it was being on 45 that made it look different. I did notice however that they added some Central Square decals on the ground-level windows.
  12. It seems they've changed the name of the lounge portion to Cle, which is now open. There are some photos of the remodeled inside on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/clehouston The outside section is still not complete, with the pool having never been poured. Not sure why the delay.
  13. Please don't rush to excitement, but can someone confirm whether or not the clock has been blasted or perhaps repainted a dark grey? I drove by on 45 around 8 this evening and the paint looked a lot darker. It may have been the lighting but it was enough to get me hopeful.
  14. Not too much water in the hole and they're still digging on the South side this morning. They've installed some of the rebar for the garage columns on the North side. As for the wall, I can understand the need for a wall around the pool but it sucks they have it on the McGowen side as well.
  15. Damn, I like Sausage Hut Guy's tenacity for wanting to become a restaurant and/or real estate mogul. I'm sad (but also glad) that I didn't think of his plan.
  16. A few of the storefronts are remodeled, but I think the owners have put all of their focus on building Mid Main. I would imagine there will be a lot of interest in those vacant units once the behemoth completes. Perhaps they're just holding off before signing leases so they can lock in as much rent as possible? I could be wrong though... maybe there's a ghost that needs extracting.
  17. Being the developer (MRA) and general contractor (Camden for MRA) aren't necessarily the same thing. Let's not get into semantics so soon after that whole "digital vs analog" thing.
  18. I'm no horologist, but I'm pretty sure your drawing would still depict an analog clock... in that the numbers are permanently affixed and a hand is used to display the time. You should have added a light that shines through numbered cutouts and displays the time on a wall. That would definitely be perplexing as to whether or not it was a digital clock, as a sun dial is considered analog (except this one: http://www.digitalsundial.com/product.html).
  19. They're in the process of taking down the crane. Lots of brickwork has been completed as well.
  20. I was at Mid Main when I saw two of them, black I think. They were flying straight toward the Med Center, so I thought they were med copters. Didn't see them turn back toward downtown.
  21. Yeah, for real. I now have a new destination for a Zombie-infested Houston!
