  1. From their website: http://www.meekspartners.com/high-rise/block-387 7 over 3 Metal with Retail 291 unit count Status: In Design
  2. More details from the brochure: Construction of Laneways’ first residential tower will be completed this summer. It will comprise a broad mix of studios and one and two bedroom apartments for lease. The four future phases of Laneways are: three multi-family buildings and a condominium project. Caydon’s partnership with a well-known US hotel operator will herald the rise of Midtown’s first boutique hotel.
  3. The previous building had truck/trailer rental, with all of the inventory parked out back or on the roof. I guess the Midtown location will take most of their business during construction.
  4. East River would actually be a really good place to incorporate the watering hole idea. A commercial development similar Brisbane, Australia's Streets Beach development would be a very strong anchor for the retail side of this. They had a similar issue with water quality so they pumped the river water in and filtered it for the pool. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Lagoon+South+Bank/@-27.4784919,153.0236878,381m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x6b91579aac93d233:0x402a35af3deaf40!2sBrisbane+QLD,+Australia!3b1!8m2!3d-27.4697707!4d153.0251235!3m4!1s0x6b915a0ef5541857:0xbc6a81b1602ce03!8m2!3d-27.4782822!4d153.0235702

  6. As inconvenient as it is to have that sidewalk closed for so long, I'm pretty sure they have a sidewalk closure permit. If not, code enforcement will just require them to apply for one or renew their expired one.
  7. And maybe we could put a gondola in there too for when the next flood happens.
  8. Ummmm... I really appreciate your contributions, but this paragraph needs to be removed. I'm really shocked that you think nice bars/clubs prefer "white or white-looking" customers and that black customers are the last lifeline for struggling businesses. Just wow.
  9. Highlights: Variance requests for a 13.6-acre mixed-use development. Just south of Buffalo Bayou, between West Dallas and Allen Parkway, near the small Autry Park and South Shepherd Drive. Plans show a hotel, residential component, office building with two floors of coworking space, retail space, activity lawn and plaza. Variances requested include extending Marston Street and adding another street, Buffalo Rising, to extend from West Dallas to Allen Parkway. Site plan shows two additional proposed roads, Autry Park Drive and Buffalo Park Drive. Also requesting zero ft setback building line.
  10. Larger rendering and highlights of info from the link: High-rise with approximately 328 residential units and approximately 1,380 m² of retail space on the ground floor. The project will take approximately two years to build. It is planned that the project will be sold after it is completed and stabilized. Leasing of the units is expected to start in Q4 2019.
  11. For those who don't have access: They see the market demand for a 20 story structure 20 vs 12 stories will be based on construction costs A restaurant is planned for the ground floor, but no other details are available Dirt should be moving on phase 2 by Q1 2020
  12. Have we confirmed that this won't have GFR? Such a waste if they're putting a highrise across the street.
  13. I think I'm going to visit just to see that espresso machine in person. That sucker probably cost more than my truck. https://corainc.com/products/elektra-belle-epoque?variant=8245969584173
  14. Lots of concrete trucks lined up this morning to pour the first full floor plate. Things should speed up from here.
  15. Pretty cool that they're reaching out to local artists to furnish the building: http://www.houstonartsalliance.com/opportunities/public-art/caydon
  16. It appears that Flying Biscuit has announced that they are commencing build out? Is the building really that far along? www.facebook.com/flyingbiscuitcafemidtownhouston/posts/539704269788432
