  1. Oops... too bad for them that Google still has a cache. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:skyrisecities.com/news/2018/08/district-transform-three-block-site-midtown-houston
  2. https://skyrisecities.com/news/2018/08/district-transform-three-block-site-midtown-houston Renderings are out again. This article is stating two highrises bookending a podium.
  3. Perhaps they will be located in the retail strip on the north side of Camden Station apartments? Never heard of this restaurant and don't anything about how large or small their locations are.
  4. Mobile crane on site. Looks like they're going to pour the base for the tower crane soon.
  5. Went by yesterday and more of the facade is being removed. Did Boxer ever release any renderings of the remodeled building?
  6. Looks like this project is finally kicking off. Official notice of street closure from TXDOT: https://www.flickr.com/photos/131236591@N05/41700093230/in/dateposted-public/
  7. Workers were on site today assembling a covered walkway. Part of the facade has been removed. https://www.flickr.com/photos/131236591@N05/29542783038/in/dateposted-public/

  9. I assume your landlord has rules against short-term sublease, but what's the difference between this and other residents in the building offering their units up for rental on airbnb? I've stayed in short-term rental properties similar to this all over the world and actually prefer it to a hotel. While it might be annoying, I doubt there is a legitimate safety concern. Most people on airbnb, vrbo, etc. have to submit a drivers license and other info in order to set up a profile. If there is any issue on site, they would know who is there vs a guest of a tenant who can just leave without being identified. I would ask the landlord if they plan to rent out specific floors in the future, with restricted access to long-term tenant floors. That would seems much better for them than units mixed throughout the building.
  10. They have really gone to work on digging. The hole is huge! I'll try to snag a pic this week.
  11. This is definitely adult content, because that is one SEXY parking garage! (Never thought I would say that about any garage in Houston)
  12. See this thread: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/26091-block-436-437-formerly-milhaus-midtown/
  13. Drove by this morning and the excavator is digging up chunks of concrete. This will be the fourth new apartment block to go up within 5 blocks of this in just the last year. Do we know if they will be required to have some sort of street presence? I think that's one of the reasons ATMA at McGowen hasn't broke ground yet. From the rendering, it looks like first floor will be parking garage and possibly a sales office.
  14. My guess is that the bar does not own the land and the landlord may be looking to raise the rent to cover the jump in property value. She will be in quite a rough spot trying to cover increased expenses while waiting for the customers to show up across the street.
  15. Going in next to Midtown Common at what is currently the Fast Traffic body shop. Article says it should be open by late summer 2018. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2018/05/25/esports-arena-to-open-in-midtown-in-houston.html
  16. Do you have a filter lens that you put over the stock gyro cam? Or is that all post-edit?
  17. From the picture, it doesn't look like the excavator is there anymore. The bulldozer and sheepsfoot roller would typically mean they are on to leveling and compacting stage. But there's still so much dirt left, so perhaps they are making a track/pad for a much larger piece of equipment... perhaps a crawler crane to pull out the piles?
  18. Found a permit filing for Wanderlust Houston at 4018 CHARTRES ST 77004. That turned up https://www.wanderstayhotels.com/ Is this the same hostel for Midtown that was mentioned on Swamplot a while back? I can't seem to find the old article. Seems like a decent location and not too incredibly far from the light rail.
  19. The most recent permit applications (11/15/2017) are quite a bit newer than the post that preceded his (or hers ) (12/19/2016).
  20. Sounds like you need to contact the city and propose they conduct a traffic study. If their findings agree with you, they could alter the light cycle or redesign the intersection... which would make traffic much worse during construction.
  21. I would imagine that's going to be Caydon's leasing office until the tower tops out.
  22. Here's that: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/fff4a3c2-5732-4a3d-8724-9ed39d67e0e1 and more related: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/2648fab0-6cab-42a0-a8f7-4b46dacb8d7d https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/b9d302ce-e9d8-4d8e-ae55-d1dcd395afcf https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/9ce2b8af-7bbb-40d8-9b80-774cfc0b78ef Mods, feel free to move this elsewhere if it hijacks the thread.
