  1. That's a stairway railing, but it looks like there's enough room to walk around it.
  2. This is a strange response to a compliment, gratitude, and a question about image processing.
  3. Silly reporters. Their TDLR filing states "2106 Dallas St Ste. 100," which is next door to Indianola/Miss Carousel instead of across from. https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/TABS/Search/Project/TABS2022010773
  4. Me too. Their eventbrite listing states that this will be downtown across from Minute Maid, so not sure if having anything at the old venue even makes sense logistically. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/st-patricks-day-festival-2022-tickets-94555204161
  5. The construction fence has been removed and exterior renovations look to be complete.
  6. The LARPers probably put that there.
  7. Based on the permit descriptions on the right, it looks like they are starting by remodeling the elevator landing for each floor and updating the HVAC system.
  8. According to the site plans posted above, there will be one other elevator on the northeast corner of the structure. The forms for the second floor are in place on the northern half, but I don't think the concrete has been poured yet.
  9. I'm seeing the same as you and the rendering even shows that unique section of sidewalk at the corner. Two projects of this size would be huge for this area.
  10. HAHAHAHA! I was thinking the same thing! CPAG is abbreviation for Crockpot and Gravel
  11. I can't see the image you were trying to post, but their website says this will open Spring 2022.
  12. The city could implement this on any street with concentrated bars and restaurants. Austin's 6th Street allows vehicles during the day and bollards close it around 8-9 PM nightly.
  13. I heard they received a PPP loan (this was a year or so ago) to keep the venue afloat, but there's only so much you can do when you have sunk costs like rent, equipment, and salaries eating up anything you earn.
  14. Don't hate on GRB until you realize what an ambitious project it was at the time. I would imagine that a day will come in the next decade that sees it razed and redeveloped or at a minimum the roof will be activated.
  15. An art installation that bulldozes itself... very Houston and I kinda like it.
  16. I saw dark red/brown bricks installed on the South and West sides of the building (at least up to the second or third floor). Not sure why the scaffolding has been up for so long.
  17. Just gonna go out on a limb here, but I don't think Houston needs ANY pubic transportation. 😅
  18. From the rendering you can see that the plaza behind the main structure leads down to a grassy area, which I'm guessing is designed to be a usable space instead of burying the required volume of stormwater detention. https://imgur.com/kagjQGK
  19. Exactly. But the problem with even dreaming of controlling sprawl is that most of the new development is not only outside COH, but also Harris County.
  20. You can only do so much downstream if the developers continue to pave over everything that previously absorbed a portion of the rainfall upstream. Hopefully the groundwater retention requirements for new large developments within COH will more than offset the burden of new suburban development.
