The midtown superblock is fenced off, freshly staked, and cleared of the existing building with the midtown mural. Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I couldn't find it.

Eighteen25 Downtown: Multifamily At 1825 San Jacinto St.

The product description doesn't match any of the renderings; text says 8 stories and renderings show 11.- 285 replies

The city endorsed bike-to-work-month events in May are being planned to detour around that section. It does suck, because it would be nice to showcase the lane more.

I'm assuming the mattress store is just renting in the existing building? No strong objections here; one less vacancy and the lease will be equal or shorter to those of spec's and half price so it won't stop the inevitable redevelopment when those run out.

This project is definitely slow, but the footprint is roughly 4x that of skyhouse. So maybe not quite as slow as it seems in that comparison.

Not sure how long it's been there, but there is a second crane base on the far south side of the site, about 5 feet from Natachee's.

A crew was bringing loads of drywall into the ticket office today and several new walls are studded up inside. I guess they're going to prelease from there for awhile before tearing it down, or maybe I'm mistaken about the location of the tower on this lot

Circuit: Multifamily At 2424 Capitol St.
Alec replied to Urbannizer's topic in EaDo, the East End, and East Houston
Oops, I meant pedestal, not wrap. Anyway, the rendering / photo of prior work shows 4 floors total. If that's correct, all the floors are concrete. Of course you could be correct and the 4 concrete floors are just parking, but I think that would mean 8-10 floors overall. Either way, I like it a bit better than the average 3 wooden floors on 2 concrete.- 263 replies

At least they're using concrete for more floors than the typical wrap.- 263 replies

I can see a new crane just southwest of the first one. Is that a second one for this project or something else entirely? It seems too close to be one of the Pearls.

This type of thinking from one poster will result in the kind of forum that has a variety of opinions, none of which will be forced on anyone. I can appreciate a post that offers some perspective to the micro analysis. I also appreciate it when posts have some entertainment value. Ergo, I clicked the like button. Sorry if that makes me literally Hitler.

I second this question! I see plenty of residential and retail activity when I walk past here every night, but only of the kind that discourages new investment in the area.

Agreed. For what it's worth, you can see most major developments on devmap.io. It's crowd informed so subject to speculation, but at least it updates faster than the downtown development map. I'll try to add this project tonight if no one beats me to it.

I appreciate the illustration, but it shouldn't be considered further evidence of where the hi-rise is going. Common Ground is apparently a very new brokerage firm (they only had half a website when they slapped up their signs on the wheeler lot a couple months back) so it's not like they are the driving force behind this major project. Furthermore, they have a strong interest in overstating the proximity and inevitability of major projects to the land they are marketing. They have probably read this thread and just prettified the same info we all already had.
