This project and Frank Liu's plans for the Finger's property (whatever it will be) could be pretty transformative. Lord knows...it needs it.

Hanover Montrose: Multifamily At 3400 Montrose Blvd.

No. There doesn't seem to be much "correct" going on there. Not the proper use of a container either.- 539 replies

Actually, the Japanese will be the primary source of financing for the HSR project. There's another thread

Now, that's a concept. Just to perpetuate things... Sparrow's idea could blend nicely with Toyota's choice to bring their N.American to Dallas. Give them a familiar mode and a destination to take it too. I know that I'm stretching here.

I don't think I'm going to flush it. Christmas is quickly approaching (only 238 shopping days left!). Pass me another one of those nogs, please, would ya, Arche?

Now That is interesting. Never even considered...Transaero, is it? Let's hope they actually establish a schedule.

Don't tell me that the Christmas tree, at the top of the main HAIF page, is just on my Desktop. Tell me it's not.

Credit this one to Marvy. Not generally a big fan. But if this one was wood, it would've been another inferno. But, could've been much worse for the neighborhood.

Houston Police Department Headquarters & Municipal Courthouse
Naviguessor replied to lockmat's topic in Downtown
But KBR Site is a beautiful location, right along the bayou. Anyway...Cathexis owns it. Doubt they would work with the city on that. It does seem that wherever the location is, it should be prominent, accessible and attractive. Someplace just north of downtown, with good views seems to fit the bill. -

It's almost May. In our house we always tried to take down the tree by Mother's Day. If it hadn't already burnt the house down. :-)

Houston Police Department Headquarters & Municipal Courthouse

Rail access for the CityCourts would be pretty smart. Up by (or near) the Hardy Yards would make sense. -

Oh no Anise not there. -
Always? Add a few million more people to the mix, and I think that that Will change. Yes, it would be next to impossible to build a rail system that serves all people and that connects all suburbs with all business centers. But, if you did build a couple lines through heavily populated corridors that each hit a couple of large commercial/ business centers then people could choose to locate/live where it makes sense for them, and future development would concentrate naturally at/near transit nodes.

Surface Lot East Of Four Seasons & South One Park Place
Naviguessor replied to UtterlyUrban's topic in Houston Real Estate
UU, the fact that Four Seasons and Alesandra wither their retail components, as well as proximity to Disco Green and GRB is why this spot is prime for Another high end Hotel/Retail/residential development seems to make sense. Spots like this are limited for high high end Hospitality operations downtown. Dense Residential is needed around the area, but not on the prime lots ($$). They can be set a block or so back. At least here. I think. -

Sexy High End Hotel... With a high end retail promenade below and high end Condos on top. For added height. -

Agreed. They do look so cruddy. Really detracts. They made it work on the new sections of Kirby. So, there is technology and hope.
