Cheek Neal Coffee Building At 2017 Preston St.
jt16 replied to DrLan34's topic in EaDo, the East End, and East Houston
It's self explanatory. Right under 59 a block or two from this building is a hangout for a lot of crackheads. Have you ever been over there? Go to Ninfas for lunch and tell me what you see on the way.- 113 replies

Still an awful lot of crackheads hanging around that part of town right near 59. I wouldn't want to live right there.- 113 replies

This is all fine and well, but if you don't have easy transport from airports to your convention area and easy transport to your high end shopping district (Galleria/Uptiwn) your city will get passed over. Because Houston doesn't have those things in the same location, you need to get conventioneers to them easily

Market Square Tower: 40-Story High-Rise At 777 Preston St.
jt16 replied to Urbannizer's topic in Downtown
Why does everyone have the right to live downtown? What's wrong with a all the affordable housing surrounding downtown? Does a 10 or 15 minute bus ride really put people out?- 1,894 replies

Ever been to Chicago? There's large "urban" developments outside of the Loop. Large growing cities have the ability to support multiple centers.- 85 replies

Welcome to Houston. Seems to be more violent every day

Haven't you heard, Houston already is bankrupt. Mayor Parker told us so when she took office. I'm sure Campo is a smart guy, and knows the real estate development business well. However, it's beyond silly that he's The Guy in charge of Houston First and it's stated goal. How do convince others to have confidence in Houston, when the guy in charge doesn't seem to have any?

Market Square Tower: 40-Story High-Rise At 777 Preston St.
jt16 replied to Urbannizer's topic in Downtown
It is. Which is why I'm glad the residential tower next to it is of similar scale. It "neutralizes" the garages impact somewhat.- 1,894 replies

I hope he figures out how to cook a steak. I love Sorrento's. It's one of my favorite restaurants, but the last two times I've been with customers that ordered steak it had to be taken back. Medium rare to Sorrento meant a good surgeon could have saved it.

Century Square: Mixed-Use Development In College Station

There is also talk of a full service hotel as part of the Kyle Field redevelopment. There's a campus master plan that shows a hotel and conference amenities near, or connected to Kyle Field.- 31 replies
