  1. Yeah I know and it's ridiculous. I think a lot of good ol boys have deep pockets in concrete
  2. That's why it's called "market based parking." If the market determines it makes sense to have it, that's at the discretion of the developer. Making it a mandate is the issue.
  3. I love how the sidewalk disappears on the side of the building and then reappears 😐 They literally made it a turning lane 🤦‍♂️
  4. Not confused just a simple misunderstanding. I got it now
  5. I walk just about everywhere and those intersections suck so bad for pedestrians. But pumping a ton of cars in to a lot and expecting everyone to park correctly in the neighborhood is going to suck. Look at West Gray as a smaller example .
  6. I mean the point was to eliminate the focus on cars. U-turns directly conflict with pedestrians in the median which is a major rec spot. The street also didn't have u-turns before the esplanade, it was a 4 lane road with 2 lanes each direction.
  7. Man we seriously need a bond to rebuild every single street in this city. The campus is so nice and then you have a ton of curbside ditches and no sidewalks covering the entire neighborhood.
  8. Amazing how one city block can change an area so fast. Great shots!
  9. It's a ridiculous waste of money. These guys don't know of anything else but moving cars. And they also started laying this project out KNOWING Metro was building their new BRT line and had conflicting plans. Why is it so hard for this agency to use those same monies and help create a commuter rail plan for the area?
  10. Wolf Capital Partners are the issue. They don't give a damn about the neighborhood, just a quick buck
  11. Not sure if this has any impact on us but a Hard Rock hotel is going up at the TX/OK border
  12. Yep I walk by this area all the time. I've been tempted to call that number and complain about the state of their property and the sidewalks
  13. I don't understand why the building was demolished and then nothing has happened for years
  14. The car traffic is going to be ridiculous and dangerous for anyone not in car
  15. Yep I was waiting for this to happen. I just saw a video on Youtube about how bad it is in NY right now. So I'm going to assume the development in Montrose is going to be on hold for a while. This sucks.
  16. Right now Whitmire is pausing all bike lane projects that will take a car lane away. He wants the data to support the need for bike lanes on certain corridors.
  17. It still amazes me how much pushback there is from some residents. I even saw some comments about how "nobody walks on Montrose Boulevard anyways so just repave the road and leave the trees alone." Well no $h*t nobody walks on Montrose Boulevard, it was built it to be as hostile to pedestrians as other major thoroughfares in this city. In the grand scheme of things, what does the Montrose TIRZ benefit from doing bad work? Plus the amount of trees will double along the boulevard.
  18. I hope at some point all these 4 lane mini highways get some road diets. It would really help the pedestrian vibe of the neighborhood. Milam, Travis, Smith, Fannin, & Louisiana can all benefit.
  19. Simple, clean, and a great use of the half block. We need more small buildings like this surrounding the ballpark.
