  1. Skanska has purchased 14 acres in North Houston across I-45 from Springwoods Village and Exxon Mobil. They plan on developing the land into a million sqft office development. Could be up to 3 office buildings.
  2. @Purpledevil here is the contact info for the listing agent and the selling agent. Im not sure who will take possession of the car the current owner or the new owner. I would just reach out to the agents and get them to ask their clients. Ariene Gilmorea- agilmore@heritagetexas.com (713) 898-8458 Micheal Silva- michael@thereynagroup.com (713) 725-8748
  3. @Purpledevil the property with the house is actually under contract. Looks like the sale will close October 17th.
  4. That is actually the development I was talking about built by Mirador. I believe it's called Yale Park Village. The 5 acres directly south of this development and the 5 acres directly SW of this are currently both on the market listed at $500,000 each.
  5. I think that the Mirador Builders gated community off of Yale turned out nicely and at a good price point for the area.
  6. @Purpledevil Parker is pretty far up there, a lot of redevelopment is going to have to take place to get up there. Is Parker considered IH ? I thought the northern boundary was Tidwell.
  7. Please explain to me what a vacant piece of land has to do with value or desirability of a area ? There are plenty of vacant empty large parcels of land in very desirable and valuable areas throughout Houston. No one said that it is valuable land now, the original poster only said that the property will increase in value as new development takes place. A lot of the things being said about IH in this thread, have been said about areas that are completely different now such as Cottage Grove, West U, Washington Ave, Midtown, The Heights, hell even Montrose. Look at Third Ward, people always said that the Third Ward would never be redeveloped and gentrified and so on and such. But look at the new town home development taking place in the NW corner of Third Ward that will only continue and spread. Also it kills me when people act as if The Heights has always been the place that is today. The Heights has come a long way and still has a long way to go in places.
  8. Sullivan brothers does own property in IH. Also Houze develepor has been building new homes in IH for a couple of years now. I think the area south of the rail road will gentrify and redevelop soon.
  9. I seriously doubt that Simon doesn't want Dillard's as a tenant. It's a major department store that would be a anchor tenant. Also Dillard's and Macy's are about neck and neck as far as their rank in department store class, especially since Macy's purchased Foley's. Also every store in The Galleria is not high end there are plenty of lower end stores in The Galleria. I think the amount of lower end stores in The Galleria will only increase due to the new retail developments coming online like River Oaks District. It has already been stated that some of the higher end retailers are jumping ship for River Oaks District. Dillard's owns that stores location. I hope they sell the land for redevelopment and become the anchor for a new Galleria extension like Monarch stated. Maybe Simon can purchase the property for another Galleria expansion. Simon is going to have to do what it takes to stay competitive.
  10. The Josephine apartments are no where near this and they were demolished for town homes not a high rise.
  11. .Have to agree seems like someone trolling. The grammar is horrible and there are contradictions. They say that they have only lived in Irving then go on to say that they don't like living in Houston. How would you know you don't like living in Houston if you have only lived in Irving. Also HISD isn't the only school district around and private school is a option. Just doesn't seem like a intelligent thought out post from a person that would make their husband quit their job.
  12. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that town homes are being built in EADO. Town homes sell. Condo buildings take a lot more to get off the ground, pre-sales and such. The land downtown is to expensive for town homes. Unfortunately developers aren't willing to take a risk on condo buildings yet hopefully that will change soon. Maybe once they see the success of the rental buildings downtown the developers will feel more confident about building condos.
  13. They are Victorian inspired rowhouses. The developer is also building townhomes in the community. That style has become very popular in master planned communities, The Woodland and Bridgeland both have developers building homes like these.
  14. I think one would go great along Washington or in Midtown.
  15. Has Alliance every did anything except midrise apartments ?
  16. Yeah I wish John Beeson would have got the West Dallas/Gillette property. He had two 30 story towers and retail planned for that site.
  17. I bet if Hines had any idea that the other tower was going to actually be built and get started before they did, they would have started on their high-rise a while back instead of dragging thier feet. Downtown residential competition is only going to increase.
  18. Had to be the Bisnow future of downtown event. I'm curious as to what will crash in 2016 as well ?
