Parkside Residences: Multifamily High-Rise At 808 Crawford St.
Chi-Char-Hou-Dal replied to largeTEXAS's topic in Downtown
Dead serious how many residents would DT need to shift the attitude change and make DT CBD he new hot spot. I'm not really interested in debating suburbs v DT but I feel DT has so much pos momentum regarding living and social aspects but the lechuguga seems to be heading north and west. There will always be law firms and smaller O&G I guess I am asking does 10k residents help DT office landscape or is it just another albeit new neighborhood to live - again this is far from bashing DT- look at my post history I'm thinking big pic Cheers Lorenz- 1,224 replies

Sterling House bar is going to be a low key beer bar - with large patio and grass yard. No food, but definitely not a club. Owned by same guys that opened the new OTC bar. Spoke with the owner and I think it will fit well in the neighborhood. Construction has picked up a lot lately and they should be open late Spring/Summer 14

What Are The Odds These Will All Be Built?
Chi-Char-Hou-Dal replied to Subdude's topic in General Houston Discussions
I contemplated whether or not to post this - we own in midtown and go out downtown a lot! My job took me west this week and I work with Air LIQUIDE - thy recently announced they are. Holding a 20 story campus in EC - man I know I'm gonna catch heat but - couldn't any of those companies build move DT ? I literally flew home all week on the Katy tollway but how long is that possible? Anyway probably not the best topic to post this but the wind has been taken out of my DT loving sails - someone pick me up... -

Magic Johnson is counting his stacks....When hardy yards and the high speed bullet train to Dallas comes in my son's first daughter will have just been born and I will be 120 years old. I will sit in my hospital bed at Memorial Herman 102 story med center tower and watch as 100s of people climb those stairs. Or In more like 20 years - hopefully this technology will be outdated. There was a reddit thread saying by 2020 in 6 short years cars will be driving themselves. Apologies in advance for those I offend. Back to my scotttttchhhhhhh

Can someone please update me on the Underpass situation/Harrisburg? Ridiculo that the line is close to done before and after the underpass. No work started so 2016 before the two sides are connected? I rode my bike down Harrisburg the other day and couldn't believe nothing has been started. Also, after being in Europe for the month of December - our street grade light rail is so slow and inefficient versus some of the high speed subways and heavy rail. Not trying to be that guy but it's hard to compare.

Good Neighbor Healthcare Center At 277 W. Gray St.
Chi-Char-Hou-Dal replied to DrLan34's topic in Midtown
Reading and forgot I was the one who said might be bad fit - area is definitely changing and as I have said before freedmans town ( like it or not) is getting squeezed like a pimple from all directions. north - the huge new apt complex next to fed West - new HS Campus and 500k tow homes west of that east - new Camden / Post - bars ect as midtown expands towards grey South - Condos galore I think the shot gun houses should be preserved and restored - however people are missing the boat if they think that this will eventually happen. houston is booming - get Chevron or some big corp to help donate and fix up a single shot gun house - there's got to be a way. Nonsensical rant over - goodnight -

Spoke with neighbor who said during demo - building is rotting away and full of termites - rumor is demo halted and bulldozers are coming in to demolish the crumbling house. At least they tried to save it - honestly it's a small lot so I am curious of how the bar will look and parking?

The Sovereign At Regent Square: Multifamily At 3233 W. Dallas St.
Chi-Char-Hou-Dal replied to Urbannizer's topic in Montrose
Here we go - been on haif for about two years - things that happen everytime - not necessisarily in this order: 1. New project announced 2. Man I hope there's ground floor retail ( i.e. Church of Retailology) 3. Ahh underwhelming ( i.e. I don't like anything) 4. Looks good but ill believe it when I see it (i.e.?The Embassy Suites Defense) 5. Neon signs / power lines (i.e. agendas) 6. Wish this was downtown (i.e. CBD'ers) 7. Attack someone from the suburbs (i.e. The Fulshear effect) 8. The any updates - send pics guy (i.e. someone who moved away and lives in some boring city with nothing new being built) 9. Last ditch pointless efforts to convince us GFR is needed! (See #2) 10. Transit fight (i.e. buses are better than trains - University Line Dreaming / you know who you are and I know your positions better than a QB knows what his centers groin feels like) I'm just drinking some bud light having a good time man - I'm not being TOO serious Cheers!- 269 replies
