First time I've seen this rendering. It looks like they've started working on the two "wrap" apartments. It's handsome in a suburban way. Quite frankly I'm more impressed with its southerly neighbor.

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
EllenOlenska replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
I don't think it's so bad. The grass is always greener, and sadly we saw a rendering of the grass. -
I apologize for my ignorance of the whole scheme, but I'm wondering, in layman's terms, if the Pierce Elevated is demolished what then? Underground highway encircling downtown, and then a large boulevard over it? An argument on the "Australian's" thread over if the Pierce Elevated deters construction, I'd like to say it may be an extraordinarily handsome road if it were a tree-lined boulevard, ripe for even greater development.

I'm sorry, but I'm quite partisan for the north-facing view of Downtown.

If the apartments were five and a half times bigger it would have a Frasier type balcony view.

Museo Institute For The Medical Arts In The Museum District
EllenOlenska replied to Urbannizer's topic in Going Up!
At least this one is right on the straight line of Main street. In fact, I think it would give the whole downtown-medical district a sort of centripetal cohesion, pulling towards the roundabout.- 630 replies

Tear down the Target and replace the entire thing with a park (of hey, multicolored crepe myrtles.) Tear down the townhouses and built another line of towers while we're just naming fantasies.

From a purely practical standpoint, increased-footage first units would seem fantastic. Maybe with a door open to the street? Security-wise it's the same thing.

I wonder if any of the units are supposed to just step out to the pool or if they're supposed to be frustrated by glass and a hedge.
