There are streets nearby that are the same as the platted names, which is why my interest was piqued. I can see the change to Cullen, but Oakhurst is a mystery. That's one of the many things I love about the block books, they show a lot of name changes. I've seen a few with 3 different names for a street.

JClark54
Great news. The project is listed as the Eastwood Grocery Building. Below are additional details from the site. It's the same information provided in the press releases distributed to Houston Chronicle and Bisnow Houston. Located at 4109 McKinney, plans for the project include reopening the 3,500 SF building’s ground floor as a grocery and restaurant space, with an upstairs of boutique offices. The historic structure, originally built by an Italian immigrant and grocer named LM Greco, opened as the Eastwood Community Market in 1922 during a formative period in Houston’s history. When originally built, the two-story stucco building served as the primary food retailer in newly developed Eastwood, a planned community conceived by William Wilson following his successful development of the Woodland Heights. Eastwood has seen a revitalization in recent years as young couples and working professionals have flocked to the area for its historic homes, oak tree-lined streets, and transit connectivity to downtown. Today, Eastwood contains the largest intact collection of craftsman, arts & crafts, and mission-style homes in Houston. Additional plans for the Eastwood Grocery site include the installation of a 1950’s Southern Pacific caboose, currently being marketed to coffee and fast casual tenants. Development of the Eastwood Grocery Site will be completed in Fall 2023. https://romulusdev.com/design/

EastwoodEnvoy
This property was part of the Eastwood Home Tour this past weekend. I wasn't able to check it out myself but my neighbor said a coffee shop will be going into the caboose, and a BBQ spot will be moving into the restaurant space in the market building. Just hearsay for now, hopefully we'll get more news soon.

JClark54
There will actually be two restaurants. The developer said an Italian coffee shop will operate from the caboose and another restaurant concept will run out of the building's first floor. Both will share the outdoor seating. The second floor will be office space. The renovation will be complete in early summer 2024.

There are smoke scrubbing systems that work pretty well (I think J Bar M has them), but they're quite expensive and I don't think a restaurant of this size will have volume to be able to afford a system like that. I guess we're just replacing coffee bean scent with mesquite scent 😁

EastwoodEnvoy
Really exciting news. The BBQ tenant for this development will be Willow's BBQ. Willow and his wife were pitmaster and head chef at J Bar M when it first opened. They've had a largely successful food truck and pop up for years and have built up quite a following. This will be a real destination restaurant for Eastwood that I'm confident will stand toe to toe with the top BBQ spots in Houston. https://www.instagram.com/p/C1m1i1_JChI/?igsh=OHg0bnQxZjBuNXdw

The barbecue pop-up / food truck announced the news on social media yesterday. According to the article, Willow's Texas BBQ will be located on the first floor of the L.M.
