HoustonWineWoman
Hi everyone, I do wine tasting events at the Mosiac. They have 2 1/2 cases of my wine right now and we will be having a tasting in the next couple of days. I'll be more than happy to snap some photos for you guys. I'm also the supplier of the "move-in" wines for the project. This is what the Mosaic custom labels look like that customers are receiving on both a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon. ricco67
Do the girls in the picture come with the rental fees??No, but to be polite, I'll keep my crude comments to myself. I haven't been to DTOX, but from what i have heard so far it is dreadfully expensive. Something about their not having a liquor license or something...which reminds me... The Great Hizzy!
My question is, what goes up on the property just to the north of it? The way construction is moving in that little section near the Museum District, you'd think that the property would be ripe for new residential development. The way construction is moving in that little section near the Museum District, you'd think that the property would be ripe for new residential development.Ya, this development and the apartment complex across the street (Esplanade) have interesting implications for the entire area headed north on Almeda. There are some pretty rough spots (super ghetto) currently just a few blocks up the road. Also no grocery stores. But prime for growth.Thought some of you might find these architecturally interesting (similarities?):http://www.realmcondos.com/building.htmhttp://www.horizonwildwood.com/http://www.encorecondos.com/building.htmlhttp://www.skypointcondos.com/http://www.twelvecentennialpark.com/building.htmlA friend of mine lives in the Realm in Atlanta, it and the Mosaic are just variations of each other. They are developed by the Novare Group based out of Atlanta. I still think they are cool though.
rsb320
Wow, they are all variations of a single design. One difference is that we will have two, completely identical, right next to each other.

lockmat
lockmat now's your chance.haha, concerning the location, i really like that it's by the freeway, but that's it. I like that it's close to Hermann Park too, but not close enough. Maybe I'm too picky?
musicman
I like that it's close to Hermann Park too, but not close enough.it's across the street from Hermann Park. They can't build IN the park itself lockmat.
BuilderGeek
I often go to Hermann Park to relax in the golf course across the street from Mosaic.Seriously, it's a half mile to Miller, the zoo, reflection pool...and that's if you cut across the golf course. Cant you just see a golf ball clunking you on the head. Most of the area around Mosaic is booming. There will be more just around the corner. This is exactly what this area has needed for decades. Grand Opening should be quite the show stopper!
rsb320
I can't believe how fast the second tower has gone up, it's nearly as tall as the first.
Jax
I like that it's close to Hermann Park too, but not close enough.it's across the street from Hermann Park. They can't build I agree. It's very close to the golf course, but its a bit of a walk from the parts of the park where people walk around, have picnics, and feed the ducks. It is in walking distance though, but probably towards the limit of how far most people will walk. I am lucky enough to live closer to the non-golf parts of the park. Mosaic is about 0.9 miles from the obelisk thing with the water fountains between the reflection pool and pond if you follow the sidewalks, according to the Google Maps distance measuring tool (approximately where I took this picture). Vertigo58
In fact, this whole section of Almeda and Holcombe/Binz is it? is taking on a whole new look! I have a real good feeling that (these areas are that are now seeing a ressurgance or new interest) were once intended to be just that, back in the day. If you start at Mosaic and drive north into DT you can see a whole new appearance. Its kind of like a 60 year gap that happened. Make any sense? We have that topic about The Spanish Village restuarant opening in 1953 so that kind of sets the date right. Area was quite the place to be and as time went on area went into not being so interesting. Here we are today with a fantastic comeback! Mi piace davvero - I really like it! lockmat
After going to that ULI event last night and getting to see the view from the balcony of a top floor room, this building will probably have the best views in the city, along with galleria high rises maybe. They'll have the ship channel and all our other skylines, not to mention the luscious green park right in front of them. lockmat
i thought the event last nt was at ZAZA. the mosiac one was months agoit was, but I'm just guessing the view from Mosaic is even better since it has nothing behind it, except for 288. They'll have a view of everything, including zaza. The view from zaza was breathtaking IMO
