February is the latest estimated opening for the Coffee Garden. The coffee shop updated its website this month and included the following:

"The Coffee Garden is looking forward to our opening day, which will likely be in mid February 2023."

Hopefully this means Conservatory will open in its entirety next month.

Conservatory is a food hall concept from Company of Nomads. It's situated in the Crossing at Midtown, located at 606 Dennis St.

Conservatory's new location is expected to open in 2023. It's one of several tenants at the Crossing at Midtown, located at 606 Dennis St.

BP on the permit type means Brew Pub and PE is for a cartage permit (transporting alcohol from a different location). So perhaps one of the local breweries is adding a new location? Or better yet this will be a new standalone brewpub. Cool find either way!

According to Loe Ortega's LO Architecture, there will be either a brewery or brewpub component to the new Conservatory food hall in Midtown, 606 Dennis.

Over the summer, LO Architecture uploaded buildout pics and design mock-ups to Instagram. The post also provided the following details:

"Infrastructure may not be glamorous, but it is integral to food hall design. With eleven vendors, bar, and future brewery, there is plenty of under slab work to be done."

The on-site brewery at Conservatory will be Stesti Brewing Co. out of Lovelady, TX.

Does anyone know if Pallet Jax was completed?

Pallet Jax is the outdoor bar on the grounds of Railway Heights. It's part of Company of Nomads' Railway Heights Market at Railway Heights (8200 Washington Ave).

The bar is constructed of pallets. A stage will also be included.

Here is a rendering posted to Pallet Jax's Instagram earlier this year (at least I think it is... I have not been to this development in months, so, I don't know if this is up and running):

With EasyPark's takeover of Railway Heights Market, Pallet Jax is not moving forward at Railway Heights.

Instead, Company of Nomads will open Pallet Jax at its new Midtown location for Conservatory.

In recent weeks, Pallet Jax's Instagram bio reflects the change. The bio previously stated the bar and outdoor venue would open at Railway Heights Market. Now, it states Conservatory.

Company of Nomads is adding an outdoor component to their new Conservatory location in Midtown. Pallet Jax is a bar and outdoor venue.

According to Pallet Jax's recently launched website, it's "a large outdoor bar and music venue made out of 1000 pallets."

Pallet Jax was initially planned for Railway Heights Market.

Conservatory could open to the public by the end of this month or early May.

In recent weeks, the food hall's website has some activity. Work on the website is ongoing, but the full vendor list is on the site. Previously, the website only had a BlueHost landing page for several years.

As mentioned in previous posts, the following concepts are part of the food hall's lineup:

  • The Coffee Garden - coffee shop and cafe
  • 2 Phat Bastard Pies - an Indo-African eatery
  • Peaky Grinders - American burger and hot dog eatery
  • The Greedy Chicken - fried chicken eatery
  • Sushi Flora - Japanese restaurant specializing in sushi
  • Foreign Grill - Uzbek cuisine
  • On-site brewery -
  • Stush - Caribbean fusion fare

I think Cairo Kitchen, the Egyptian dining concept, is no longer opening at Conservatory. Additional dining concepts signed on:

  • Disco Dan's Pizza - a Detroit-style pizzeria from chef Chris Zettlemoyer. Zettlemoyer operates Figo Sugo at Bravery Chef Hall

  • Sticks & Stones - I'm not sure about the concept

  • Taqueria Licha - a Mexican eatery. I don't know if it will serve specific regional fare or not

  • Terrarium Bar - cocktail bar

  • Xeo Yum - a Vietnamese eatery specializing in bánh xèo / Vietnamese crêpe; was previously a frequent pop-up at Railway Heights Market

  • Xica - not sure what this is yet. This may be a Mexican refresqueria serving agua frescas, I'm not sure

A day or so after the post above, Conservatory updated its website. I think it's a work in progress as the food hall prepares to open in a few weeks.

Conservatory posted a mobile view list of vendors that excludes Disco Dan's Pizza. However, Disco Dan's Pizza is slated for the food hall, though I'm not sure if it will debut when the venue opens or at a later date.

Also, 2 Phat Bastard Pies is listed under the business' previous name Pastry Palls / Pastry Pals.

Conservatory's Midtown location is in The Crossings at Midtown at 606 Dennis St.

Below is a screenshot of the vendor list on the website:
