houstontexasjack
The last time the Rockets came back from a 3-1 deficit to face the team with the NBA's best record and the league MVP.....1995 against the Spurs.
Luminare
I thought the announcers said the Phoenix Suns. Maybe I misheard.
mkultra25
The Rockets faced Phoenix in the Western Conference Semifinals, where they came back from the 3-1 deficit. Beating Phoenix gave them a berth in the Western Conference Finals against San Antonio and MVP David Robinson.

Also, to put the Rockets' 0-4 record against Golden State during the regular season into perspective, they were 1-5 during the regular season against the Spurs in 1994-95, only to beat them 4-2 in the conference finals. cloud713
damn, were 0-4 against Golden State in the regular season? Howard Huge
I thought the announcers said the Phoenix Suns. Maybe I misheard. No, you heard right, the Suns were the last team to come back from a 3-1 deficit to win a series. The 95 Rockets were the last ROCKETS team to do it, which is insane, since only nine teams in history have ever pulled that off, two of them Rockets teams!

You forgot the air-quotes for "MVP" David Robinson.
The Pragmatist
My dad somehow got us seats at Game 7 of the 1994 Finals and Game 4 of the 1995 Finals. I was a little kid at the time and don't remember much outside of all the cheering, cars stopping on the roads after the games, and some random drunk guy hoisting my brother and me onto his shoulders as the Rockets won the second championship. It's pretty cool to think about in retrospect. I still remember the "Clutch City" VHS sitting in out cabinet after the first championship. Anyway, it would be exciting to see the Rockets make it happen again. Let's hope they finally have an answer for the Warriors. I just wish the games were on NBC so they could bring back that great John Tesh "NBA on NBC" theme.

I just wish the games were on NBC so they could bring back that great John Tesh "NBA on NBC" theme. I still listen to "Roundball Rock" (the John Tesh NBA on NBC theme) to get pumped for games. I have also been Capella's "U Got 2 Know" lately--it was the Rockets' starting lineup song back in 1995. After Game 6, I think the Rockets can beat anybody. With a bit of luck, we might even get Bev back for part of this series--that cast is supposed to come off very soon.
samagon
You forgot the air-quotes for "MVP" David Robinson. It's really surprising he was able to jump with broken ankles, which I guess is why he was DA real MVP.
lockmat
damn, were 0-4 against Golden State in the regular season? Hopefully Harden will be out with a vengeance & to prove they gave the wrong guy the MVP..GO ROCKETS! Some things to remember about that 0-4 record. Howard missed two of those games and wasn't at full strength for the other two. Also, all four were played before February, so it has been a while. There are so many similarities between now and 95 it's crazy. Howard needs to keep rebounding and playing well. Harden has not been efficient this playoffs, but if he starts to I think the Rockets have a really good chance of coming out on top this series.
j_cuevas713
Man the terrible calls at GS tells me why they have the record they do on home court. They get bailed out by some bs no calls... while the Rockets tap Curry on the shorts and its a foul... we got these two games at home! Let's Go Rockets! houstontexasjack
Ty Lawson, assuming he can get his stuff together, should be a good offensive upgrade at Point Guard and provide a nice primary ball handler when Harden is out of the game. The West will be an even bigger death struggle this year.
