Triton
There was an hour long wait to get onto the playground, with security controlling entry and exit. Was quite a big event this past weekend!
bookey23
The whole area was extremely well done. We chose not to wait in the long line for the big playground, but my kid loved the little playground on the side with the big monkey
Houston19514
The whole Commons is really beautiful. Great addition to a pretty amazing park.
ChannelTwoNews
Very much looking forward to checking this out with my kids when I'm back in town at the start of June.
htownproud
We went both days, and it was great. The line for the big playground was about 10 minutes when we went (apparently they will have someone there monitoring the gates at all times). My kids loved the sand and water feature, which I think is unique to Houston parks (bring a change of clothes and towel for the kids). My only complaint is there are not many bathrooms, but the ones they have are very nice. Great addition to the park.

We talked to the lady who was monitoring the gate when we went yesterday. She said Sunday was so bad that they had to have people even guarding who was entering the slide (the rocket) because there was a line inside the playground just to ride and some kids were trying to come from the bottom to bypass the line. Either way, sounds like people loved it! My son certainly did and he already wants to go back to the water side next time (we'll remember to bring his swim trunks with us! lol).

bookey23
I went today. What a fantastic addition to Hermann Park and a truly great playground. I couldn't recommend it more highly for families. I wish there was a little more inviting open lawn space for non-families, but this will still be a destination area for Houstonians for years to come
JLWM8609
Did they remove the Dillidiidae sculpture or relocate it to another part of the park?
Highrise Tower
I really like the new promenade/entrance leading to George Hermann's statue. Very well done!
