  1. private event space on the third floor... they should recreate Love Street
  2. we have a supertall whose height was limited by the FAA because of Hobby's runways.
  3. does Gensler still have the model of the BOTSW tower in their lobby? That was bad assed the last time I saw it (about 20 years ago)
  4. I call this the Bad Romance Building- here's why. The Lady Gaga song Bad Romance sounds like six different songs all mishmashed into one, like a bunch of people butted heads and wouldn't give in on not having their part included in the song. So, they drew parts out of a hat, stitched it together, and put it on the radio. Pop music consumers ate it up. This building has all it's different disjointed parts mishmashed together into one building just like Bad Romance. (whoever had the idea of having SIX facades on one building should have been fired from the project!)
  5. I just got the invitation to this. I'm going to see if I can hide somewhere rather than work this... lol (I work at a place in the soon to be renamed Pavilions)
  6. I installed a couple of TV's for a client who started moving their stuff in there last week, so, some units are already available
  7. from what I heard second hand, Alamo hasn't finalized their Midtown or Montrose location yet.
  8. Struts was at I-45 and Aldine Bender in the northwest corner of the intersection. I did many, many shows there with lots of local bands
  9. David Sheetz lived around the corner from where I grew up. Now I know why he kept a special eye out for all the kids in the neighborhood
  10. the old Books a Million space would be great for a scaled down Macy's
  11. in a Commie Block midrise just north of the old Sharpstown Mall
  12. it's too far away from Greenway Plaza to be considered part of it, and, besides, it would be called (insert number here) Greenway Plaza if it was a part of Greenway
  13. looks to me like the rock part is staying, just the windows are being replaced
  14. there is YouTube video of Zeppelin at The Coliseum. There's no sound on the video other than Zeppelin tracks someone added to it, but, they were definitely at The Coliseum!
  15. no, if they get good enough ratings, bigger market stations will pick them up. She's going to host a national show called The List.
  16. The Thief Who Came To Dinner deserves it's own topic, if it doesn't have one already... that way, I can wonder out loud why Jill Clayburgh is sitting in a taxi outside of Jones Hall, and tells the driver to take her to the Rice Hotel. It's block away, get out and walk, you lazy bint!
  17. people who shop at Highland Village are NOT going to use rail to get there- it's inconvenient to get to the train, it stops too often, and a train station in the middle of HV would disrupt traffic flow in the area. this is not New York, we don't all live on top of each other in densely packed commie blocks (says the guy who currently lives in a commie block...lol)
  18. except it's drawn where HL&P was going to build a 90 floor building on Block 265. It might be a proposal for that...
  19. You would think that West Oaks is a horrible place for an Alamo Drafthouse type concept, but they made a go of it, and now look- they're building where they belonged in the first place
