this is now Treasures. Before it became Treasures, they resurrected the Cutter Bill's name, but, since it had been so long since the original CB had been shut down none of the recent Houston transplants got the name's heritage, so it flopped

What Are The Odds These Will All Be Built?
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to Subdude's topic in General Houston Discussions
the first four wards have their dividing lines at Main and Texas, so that's hy the quadrants are divided there. why redraw the map....lol -
I wold sat there's an 80% chance it gets built. The built their first Houston tower last year with no tenants lined up, leased the entire thing to one client, then sold it to them. that is an excellent start for a first venture in this town- I'm thinking they know they can do it again.

the Sheraton wasn't a brick structure like this one, so I'm sure the scaffolvator (heh.. good name for it, Nate) is up so they can remove all the brick. Plus, the Sheraton was already gutted and had all it's asbestos removed. after the brick comes down, the rest of the structure will come down rather quickly

there is no way it will be gone by March, but, excavation for the rest of the tower will take a couple of months, so, if this one is gone by June, then it'll work out pretty well. I think it took 6 months to disassemble the Sheraton, which was just a shell. (timeline pulled out of thin air)

they blew it up Sept 22, so it took them almost 120 days to clean out the hole and get it to where it is now

excuse the lack of quality on the picture, my LG phone's camera is worthless. So, the last of the digging and cleaning machines have been removed, the walls of the 'bathtub' have been shored up, and the tunnel entrance is sealed. We now have the future home of Hilcorp, sans building.

Chevron Skyscraper Proposal At 1600 Louisiana St.
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to tangledwoods's topic in Going Up!
Mexico is ending their oil monopoly, inviting foreign investment. Look for oil prices to drop and production there doubles in the next few years. you would think that if Chevron grabs a chunk of that, they'll need more office space... lol http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-12-16/north-america-to-drown-in-oil-as-mexico-ends-monopoly.html- 1,170 replies

is that 'construction starts in March', or "prep for deconstruction of the Texas Tower ends and it's actual deconstruction starts" in March?

The Langley: Residential High-Rise At 1717 Bissonnet St.
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to musicman's topic in Going Up!
the people who live in that area want it to be exclusive- they want the property value high to keep out those who are not like them, and they don't care about paying higher taxes on the property. It's just money to them. ( i have a client who lives in the noontime shadow of AHR on the other side of Bissonnett.... that is his attitude)- 1,446 replies

did Hilcorp ever give a timetable on their construction project? I'm wondering because the size of the hole in the ground is way too big to be filling in now just to dig it all up in a couple of years (even if it is only 15' deep, and just where did they think they were going to put 30,000 people in a shelter on that block? Throughout the entire Foley's building?)
