Texaco Building (now The Star) At 1111 Rusk Street
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to editor's topic in Downtown
the windows at The Houstonian do not open, the Warwick Towers has balconies. I lived at The Sussex, a 55 year old problem-filled 16 floor commie block, it's windows opened. So, it's building by building. -

does the name Green Street ring a bell? It flopped. Not even the new offices will help. (now that I no longer work in that building I can talk all the flurf and truth bomb all I want)

Ugh, I guess Mike Raymond is out of the bar business now. He and Steve sold their interests in Reserve 101 about a year ago. (Mike Raymond and Mike Neff (?) owned Cottonmouth)

The Rustic seems to be doing ok. But then again, the only time I have been there was for a private event last week, and it was packed. Events are where these places make their money, not from shows and restaurants.

Warehouse District: Mixed-Use By Urban Genesis
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to Urbannizer's topic in Going Up!
that building wasn't worth saving. Here's a pic from the best show they ever had there, Genitortures in Oct 2015. After the show, I was headed towards the stage to grab my stuff when I walked by Gen and the sound guy. She was SCREAMING at him, telling him he sucked, he ruined the show, he should stop trying to be a sound guy and go get a real job.. I was like, wtf... then she saw me, grabbed me, stuck her tongue in my ear and started cooing sweet nothings in my ear, telling me how she loved my work, I made the show worth doing, etc. We did a photoshoot later, can't post any pics (none are x-rated, but, still, they're not fit for a family friendly forum..lol)- 411 replies

Warehouse District: Mixed-Use By Urban Genesis
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to Urbannizer's topic in Going Up!
aw, snap, that's where we did Genitortures one night and Loudness (the Japanese metal band) another night. A guy I call my puppy dog Jake walked in to the Loudness show, said he heard metal as he was driving by, and figured I would be there... We also did a Green Jello show there- 411 replies

their constant reinforcing of the covid propaganda is tiresome. it's all so tiresome... this post brought to you by the numbers 99.97 and 99.98... that's the survivability rate. -

it's almost time to get the car's tires rebalanced and front end checked in anticipation of some (murmuring unintelligble things about going slightly faster than the speed limit)

If you have ever watched the Cubs on WGN, every April the vines covering the outfield brick wall at Wrigley Field are brown. On one Spring day they all come to life. It's the same with the vines on 59.

haha, let's dredge one up from the beginning. This post is old enough to drive. I wonder if Groovehouse still looks at this forum occasionally... Yo, we're doing shows at HoB again soon, hope to see you around.
